Greetings Beloved

Today as we commemorate 50 years of the Soweto Student uprising, that lead to students being killed for fighting for justice, we are invited to reflect on Prophet Micah 's call, that challenges us to be on a path of justice and mercy, and of humbly walking with God.

What God requires of us is that we live the faith we confess and embody the image of God, by being just and merciful, always seeking the truth and sharing His life. We are not to lose focus of what God calls us to do and be, especially today in the face of many challenges that confront us.

The times in this country and the world at large are hard, there is a dark cloud of distress that covers the people and threatens peace, livelihoods and social cohesion caused by high levels of unemployment and cost of living and corruption.

This is the time when our Christian Values and Calling must and should be very clear. We are to be a channel of hope and a life-line for those living at the periphery of life.

Have a blessed day!

Greetings Beloved

Jeremiah is called into an unpopular ministry of speaking against systems and structures that contradict God's life-giving agenda for Israel and through Israel. He had to speak God's judgement against authority, denoucing such practices. The response from the people was not pleasant, so the message from the Lord caused him to suffer.

This happens because there is always great resistance when the Light confronts darkness, when justice is spoken in a place of injustice and peace in the valley of conflict.

The pressure is all around him, friends have turned against him, everyone is waiting to pounce on him. But there is greater pressure within his bones, fire that demands he speaks out the Word of the Lord in a hostile world.

But in all these he commited his cause to the Lord, the mighty warrior who will not abandon him.

So, beloved we too can speak that Word of Truth and Life even when it is not favourable and even in the face of opposition for God is with us!

Have a blessed day!

Greetings Beloved in Christ

Today we are called to patiently wait upon the Lord for deliverance from whichever place of discomfort and uncertainty you might be in. To place our trust only in him for our God is an unshakable and impenetrable tower in which we can find refuge.

The Psalmist invites us to be still and know that our God is in control, even if the trajectory we are on may be chaotic and heartbreaking. We are to trust in God alone.

We have to guard against a temptation to contradict our standing in God by submitting ourselves to systems and acts that seduces us by promising to give us power, respite, security and joy. Their offer is but temporal.

Beloved let us live everyday with the understanding that all power and steadfast love belongs to God alone. It is only God who transforms our lives, for when He send forth His breath the dead are given life and hope, and purpose. God renews the face of the earth.

Beloved, God alone is our rock and salvation, our fortress.

Greetings Beloved

The author of Hebrews aims to reveal and prove that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and that Jesus Christ is superior, than Angels, Prophets and in this instances than Moses the servant of the Lord. Moses had a place of honour for he was considered as faithful in all God's House. For he had special audience with God, and God spoke face to face with him.

Now their focus is to shift from Moses, for one greater and superior than Moses is in their midst. The one who was not just part of the house but the creator of the house.

Jesus is introduced not just as a servant like Moses but is the very Son of God. They are called to fix their attention on Jesus, to deeply consider who he is: the great Apostle who was send by God for the salvation of humanity and the high priest who reconciled us to God.

Beloved in view of all these, we are to remain firm in Him, as the members of his house, grounded deeply into him who is our cornerstone and living hope.

Have a blessed day!

Greetings Beloved

The lament paints a picture of utter desolation and crushing. He looks at himself and feels reduced to the very lowest point in life. In such a moment his hope and faith are at a risk of diminishing.

However in the midst of all this darkness and pain around him, there is something that is very clear and that in itself restores hope to him. The reality of God's love and mercy confronts him even from that place of discomfort and disadvantage, and that raises him from the ash heap of despair to a place of hope.

The Lord has not allowed his afflictions to consume him, and this gives him hope that things will turn around for the better.

The ground for our comfort and hope is to be found in the knowledge that God's love for us remains steadfast and his mercy does not end.
So we can wait in our momentary afflictions because we know God will not abandon us forever in them, but will restore us, as we have seen in Christ our Lord who was raised to life after great trials.

Have a blessed day!

Good Morning Beloved

The Psalmist invites the steadfast love of the Lord into his own life and world, to come and disrupt the chaos that has taken residence there. This petition calls upon the promises of God.

It is at times of hostility: when depression, the fiery ordeals of life, the high levels of unemployment and cost of living are heavy on us, that our response is to give up at the face of such impediments.
But the greater call and response for us is to call upon the love of God which comes to us wrapped in His Saving Grace.

We are to keep the Word and hope in the Word of the Lord, for His Word is life-giving; His Word brings freedom and delight in us, it gives us courage, to walk with our heads lifted up even in persecutions.

The Word of God must be the ground of our comfort and confidence to stand firm in faith, in devotion, and always confessing the goodness of God.

Beloved, may the Word of the Lord be our anchor and ground for comfort and hope in the storms of life.

Have a blessed day!

Greetings Beloved

Peter's answer is not saying, where shall we go, but to whom? For when we are not in Christ we are united to someone else, who guides and governs our lives. Faith in Christ is central here.

Beloved, the believing and knowing in vs 69, connotes intimacy and closeness of relationship. It is not a superficial knowledge—but a profound experience. We need to reach a point of knowing that a minute away from Christ is the worst experience we can ever imagine.

Peter makes this truth, clear for us: We have come to know that you are the Holy one of God, the one whom God sanctified, and sent into the world; That you are the Word that was in the beginning with God, the one who is life and who gives life to the World.

Peter's confession invites us to place our trust in the Lord alone, even if and when our understanding of the path we are on is blurry, our eyes must see clearly who the Lord is to us. He is our loving Father, who in Christ has given us a new life and hope.

Have a blessed day!

Hymn: Healer of our every ill

Refrain:
Healer of our every ill,
light of each tomorrow,
give us peace beyond our fear,
and hope beyond our sorrow.

1 You who know our fears and sadness,
grace us with your peace and gladness;
Spirit of all comfort, fill our hearts. [Refrain]

2 In the pain and joy beholding
how your grace is still unfolding,
give us all your vision, God of love. [Refrain]

3 Give us strength to love each other,
every sister, every brother;
Spirit of all kindness, be our guide. [Refrain]

4 You who know each thought and feeling,
teach us all your way of healing;
Spirit of compassion, fill each heart. [Refrain]

Greetings Beloved in Christ

To be a good follower of the Lord is born out of a deep trust that Christ is enough for our faith and life. Even when circumstances around and within us may suggest that we are beyond redeeming and help, wrecked beyond repair, there is a God who works with the impossible. A God who provides even in unconventional ways in "written off" situations we may find ourselves.

Apostle Paul's message to us is to keep the faith alive, walking in the footsteps of Abraham our Father of Faith, who even at the face of obstacles and barriers in his way to receiving what God promised, did not lose his hope and faith in God's faithfulness. Because of his faith in the Lord, God credited to him and all who shall believe in Him, as righteousness.

Let us keep the hope alive, for our faith is in a living God, who is our very loving Parent. In love He has given us Jesus Christ His Son, who is our righteousness.

So we can wait patiently and in faith for the Lord’s deliverance.

Have a blessed day!
