WOMEN OF COURAGE, FAITH AND PURPOSE

Scripture: Proverbs 31:25
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”

Today, as we celebrate Women’s Day, we give thanks to God for women—the women who raised us, prayed for us, nurtured us, challenged us, led us and opened doors so that others could walk through them.

National Women’s Day in South Africa – 9 August 🇿🇦
National Women’s Day commemorates the historic Women’s March of 9 August 1956, when approximately 20,000 women marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest against the apartheid government’s pass laws.
The women presented petitions opposing the extension of pass laws to African women.

Their courage and unity became a powerful symbol of resistance, captured in the famous words:
“Wathint’ abafazi, wathint’ imbokodo!”
“You strike a woman, you strike a rock!”

Today, National Women’s Day is not only about remembering the women of 1956. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the progress made—and the work that remains—in achieving gender equality, dignity, safety, economic empowerment, leadership and equal opportunities for women and girls

Today we honour and celebrate all fathers, grandfathers, spiritual fathers, and father figures who have impacted our lives through their love, guidance, sacrifice, and faithfulness.

We thank God for the important role that fathers play in nurturing families, building communities, and reflecting the Father's heart. May the Lord bless you with wisdom, strength, good health, and abundant grace as you continue to lead, protect, and inspire those entrusted to your care.
