𝗠𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀

There once was a quiet peddlar of fruits and vegetables who passed a minister's house each day.
One day the peddlar dropped a little black notebook that he always carried with him. The minister happened to find this notebook and looking through it to to find to whom it belonged, he was amazed at what was written in it.

Throughout the book were comments like:
- "Visit the following who have been missing from church ..."
- "Ask about the sick baby..."
- "Leave fruit for the blind lady..."
- "Speak a word to the old discouraged man on the corner..."
- "Invite the young man and his wife to church and Bible class..."
- etc.

The next day the minister asked the peddlar if the notebook belonged to him. Oh, yes answered the peddlar, "thats my book of reminders. I thank you very much!"
"I am pleased with your reminders," answered the minister.
"Well, Sir," replied the peddlar, "It helps keep my soul out of the dust, and I do it, he said turning to a quotation on the first page of the notebook, "for His body's sake, which is the church." (Col. 1:24)

𝟭𝟴 𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘀𝗶𝗸𝗸𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝘄𝗲𝗿

- Eksodus 21:32 stel die waarde van een slaaf op 30 sikkels silwer vas.
- Eksodus 12:37 stel dat 600 000 weerbare manne (wat oues, afhanklikes en vrouens buite berekening laat) uit die Egiptiese slawerny bevry is.
So om net die mans uit die Egiptiese slawerny vry te koop sou 18 miljoen sikkels silwer gekos het.

Judas, en die owerpriesters en die skrifgeleerdes stel die waarde van die Herder van Israel op 30 sikkels silwer vas, om van Hom onstlae te raak (en dit vervullend van die profesie van Sagaria 11:12).

1 Petrus 1:18-19 gee verdere perspektief:
"Julle weet tog dat julle nie met verganklike middele soos silwer of goud losgekoop is uit julle oorgeërfde sinlose bestaan nie.
Inteendeel, julle is losgekoop met die kosbare bloed van Christus, die Lam wat vlekloos en sonder liggaamsgebrek is."
