Jesus Christ, the cornerstone

On Wednesday 3 June, the midweek Divine Service in La Motte Congregation was conducted by Priest Jaco Parson

The Bible text for the service was taken out of Isaiah 28:16
“Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; whoever believes will not act hastily.””

Message:
Jesus Christ gives us security.

Summary
- In Christ, we have a solid foundation.
- His word and love are unchanging, His grace is perfectly effective, and His authority is absolute.
- Let us trust Him, love Him, and seek His grace.

The Divine service was concluded with the hymn “Praise the Lord who reigns above”

The blessing of the triune God

On Sunday 31 May, the Divine Service in La Motte Congregation was conducted by District Evangelist Wayne Cicilie, District Rector for Franschhoek District.

The bible text for the service was taken from the book of 2 Corinthians 13:14
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”

The message: The work and activity of the triune God are expressed in the closing
benediction of the divine service.

Summary:
- The Trinitarian benediction is a powerful divine promise.
- The blessing is addressed first and foremost to us personally. Yet it must also have an impact on those around us.
- The blessing of God encourages us to live our lives as true Christians.

Priest Jaco Parson was called to serve alongside.

During the service, the congregation witnessed four souls receive the sacrament of Holy Baptism with water, while five souls were adopted into the New Apostolic Church.

The choir concluded the service with the hymn “Thee, God, praise we bring”
