September 2, 2026 Prayer meeting - Sweet Incense:
1. Prayer: Revelation 5:8 (NLT) “And when He took the scroll, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they held gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.” [Revelation 8:3-5]
2. Prayer, thanksgiving & worship: Psalm 141:2 (KJV) “Let my prayer be set forth before You as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.”
3. Holy Communion: Ephesians 5:2 (KJV) “And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”
4. Ministers of the New Covenant: 2 Corinthians 2:14-17 (NLT) “But thank God! He has made us His captives and continues to lead us along in Christ’s triumphal procession. Now He uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume. Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this? You see, we are not like the many hucksters who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ’s authority, knowing that God is watching us.”
5. Tithes & offerings: Philippians 4:18 (KJV) “But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.” [John 12:1-8]
*There are smells in the spiritual realm, and our prayers and works of faith, labours of love, endurance of hope are like incense to the Lord. Our strife, offense and complaining is a stench to God and an attraction to the devil and demons.*
Let us pray this together: _"Lord Jesus, I bring to you every lie and mind game the enemy has tried to plant in me. Thank you that as I pray in the spirit, those lies lose their grip and Your peace fills my heart. This evening, I rest in the Truth, that I am Your Beloved, righteous in You, and secure in Your love. In Jesus' Name! Amen!”_
