ARE THE SACRAMENTS ALSO DISPENSED TO THE DEPARTED?

That the sacraments can be dispensed for the dead is clear from 1 Corinthians 15: 29: “Otherwise what will they do who are baptised for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all? Why then are they baptised for the dead?”

PREPARATION FOR DIVINE SERVICE FOR THE DEPARTED

On Saturday 28 February 2026 the choir of Umbilo Congregation came together to prepare for the divine service for the departed.

DIVINE SERVICE FOR THE DEPARTED

Divine services for the departed take place three times a year, on the first Sunday of March, July, and November respectively. With this in mind, New Apostolic Christians also pray that souls who have died in an unredeemed state may find salvation in Christ.

God's will to redeem encompasses all human beings. Jesus Christ is Lord over both the dead and the living (Romans 14: 9).

Already in the congregation of Corinth, the living were baptised on behalf of the dead (1 Corinthians 15: 29).

On Sunday 22 February 2026 the Young People of Pinetown Congregation hosted a car wash after the divine service with the view of raising funds for DARE2CARE 2026.

WELCOMING OF NEW YOUTH- Divine Service in Umbilo

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. Romans 1:16

On Sunday 15 February 2026 the Young People of the greater Durban area came together at our Umbilo church for a Divine Service conducted by District Elder Smith to welcome our new Young People who were confirmed on 2 February 2026.

After the divine service the Young People Coordinator did a presentation on the confirmation onboading sessions and forthcoming events.

The winning team of the "Amazing Race" that had taken place the previous day received their trophy.
