✨Day 2: Fasting & Prayer💫

Philippians 4:6 NIV
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."🔥🚀

God is aware of all our anxieties, and makes provision for them. Like any parent, hoping for what's best for their child, God gives us an opportunity to come to him by prayers and supplications, in order to subdues anxieties and receive from God.

I encourage us on this 2nd day of our fasting and prayer to make our requests known to God. "Let us petition God" concerning any matter that concerns us.🚀🔔

Day 1: Fasting & Prayer

Jonah 2:1 NIV
"From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God."

In distress, Jonah looked to God, he prayed. It seems, Jonah had no wisdom of his own to escape the depth of the ocean or the insides of the fish, he sought God.

This day, I challenge us to seek God, "FOR OURSELVES" on this 1st day of our fasting & prayer.

Illegal immigration is a demonstration of our government's shortcomings, demanding correction and compliance is legitimate. However, violence and intimidation toward foreign nationals is a choice that South Africans make, and it is wrong.

While we agree with and support calls for addressing illegal immigration, we also recognise the human rights that foreigners within our borders are entitled to, as well as the biblical principles regarding treatment of foreigners. We unequivocally reject the xenophobic tendencies that have characterized the protests that have risen recently. Violence is not a solution, rather, constructive dialogue is what our country needs, not only to preserve the lives of people, but also our international image as a nation.

At Daybreak

Genesis 32:26 (NIV)
"Then the man said, 'Let me go, for it is daybreak.' But Jacob replied, 'I will not let you go unless you bless me.'"

Jacob wrestled with God throughout the night. He was tired, wounded, and uncertain, yet he refused to let go. Then, at daybreak, his breakthrough came. God blessed him, changed his name, and gave him a new future.

Many believers experience long nights of prayer, struggle, and waiting. Jacob's story reminds us that God often brings His blessing at daybreak—after the season of testing has accomplished its purpose.

Three Encouragements from Jacob's Daybreak:

1. Your night season is not permanent.
No matter how dark the night may seem, God has appointed a morning. "Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning" (Psalm 30:5).

2. Your struggle is preparing you for your blessing.
Jacob left the struggle changed before he left blessed. God often uses our battles to shape our character and deepen our dependence on Him.

3. Hold on until your breakthrough comes.
Jacob refused to let go until he received God's blessing. Persistent faith positions us to receive what God has promised.

Conclusion
At daybreak, Jacob discovered that the struggle was not the end of his story—it was the pathway to his blessing. If you remain faithful through the night, trust that God is working. Your daybreak is coming.

Today’s service in pictures 💫

We had a powerful service today, Mrs Moke ministered powerfully and challenged us on a profound question, are you “disciple or church goer?”

We are grateful to God for Rev. Siphesihle Kumla’s leadership. Everyone has a platform to grow. The young people led today’s youth service with excellence, and served well in all their designated areas. May God richly bless each and everyone of them🔥

His Mercies Endure

Nahum 1:7 (NIV)
"The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him."

The prophet Nahum ministered during a time of uncertainty and judgment, yet in the midst of these realities he declared a powerful truth about the character of God. While circumstances may change, God's mercy remains constant. His goodness, protection, and loving care reveal that His mercies truly endure forever. This verse reminds believers that God is not distant from His people; He is actively present, sustaining those who place their trust in Him.

1. His Mercies Endure Through His Goodness

"The Lord is good..."

God's goodness is not merely something He does—it is who He is. Every act of grace, forgiveness, provision, and blessing flows from His good nature. Even when we do not understand our circumstances, we can trust that God remains good. His mercy reaches us daily, providing strength for today and hope for tomorrow.

When life becomes difficult, remember that God's goodness is not determined by your situation but by His unchanging character.

Psalm 100:5 – "For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."

2. His Mercies Endure Through His Refuge

"A refuge in times of trouble."

God does not promise a life free from trouble, but He promises to be our refuge within it. A refuge is a place of safety, security, and shelter. When storms arise, believers have a secure place in God's presence. His mercy provides protection for our hearts, peace for our minds, and confidence for our souls.

The safest place in times of uncertainty is not in human strength but in God's presence.

Psalm 46:1 – "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."

3. His Mercies Endure Through His Care

"He cares for those who trust in him."

God's care is personal and intimate. He knows His children, understands their struggles, and walks with them through every season. The word "cares" reminds us that we are never forgotten or overlooked. His mercy is expressed through His constant attention to the needs of those who trust Him.

Trust opens our hearts to experience the loving care of a God who never abandons His people.

1 Peter 5:7 – "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

Conclusion
Nahum 1:7 reveals three enduring expressions of God's mercy: His goodness, His refuge, and His care. Whatever challenges we face today, we can stand confidently in the knowledge that God remains good, He is our safe refuge, and He lovingly cares for all who trust in Him. Because His character never changes, His mercies endure forever.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your enduring mercy. Help us to trust in Your goodness, run to You as our refuge, and rest in Your loving care. Strengthen our faith to depend on You in every season of life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
