ABOUT RANDOLPH BARNWELL

Randolph is happily married to Rene since September 1990. He has three sons [Matthew, Liam & Luke] and one daughter [Rae]. He has been serving the Lord since 1982, and has been engaged in active ministry since 1990. He has served in various leadership capacities within the context of local church and the community in which he grew up. He is a qualified teacher/educator and taught at high school level for seventeen years, before entering full-time ministry as the senior elder of a local church, Eternal Sound Ministries, which he planted in Durban in September 2005. The church was renamed ‘Gate Ministries - Durban Central’ in September 2013. Randolph fulfills a spiritual fathering function to his own household of faith, as well as providing spiritual oversight to New Wine Ministries in Mutare, Zimbabwe. Randolph’s primary grace is that of teaching with an apostolic-prophetic emphasis. He is focused on the development of various resources which capture and document eternal, un-altering principles for effective functioning in life to swiftly accomplish personal and corporate divine destiny. To this end he writes study manuals, books, records audio teachings in series format, and produces musical products. He is also passionate about capturing principles of God’s Word musically. He has written many songs used by many churches.

The scope of God’s provision depends on the scope of qualitative relationships.

In 2 Kings 4, a widowed woman was instructed to borrow many vessels from her neighbours and fill each one with oil to solve of debt problem. As long as there were empty vessels available, the oil continued to flow; when there were no more vessels, the oil ceased. Thus, the measure of the oil’s flow was directly connected to the number of vessels gathered. In turn, the number of vessels she could obtain depended upon the extent and quality of her relationships with her neighbours.

The reference to “neighbours” suggests more than mere proximity; it implies a sphere of relational connection, trust and social goodwill. To borrow vessels from neighbours required that these neighbours trusted the widow. The magnitude of God’s provision in this instance was intrinsically linked to the woman’s relational world. Her breakthrough did not occur in isolation, but through engagement with the people around her.

This demonstrates an important spiritual principle: relationships often serve as conduits through which divine provision, support and breakthrough flow. Healthy and meaningful relationships are therefore indispensable to progress and advancement in life and ministry.

The oil of providential supply will be unending as you give priority to sincerely caring for and loving PEOPLE. PROVISION needs PEOPLE-connectivity. Relational infrastructure is critically important - give attention to it.

In His discussion about serving God or Mammon — the demonic system that enslaves men through unbiblical attitudes toward money — Jesus, within the same context, speaks about the measure of light or revelation within one’s eye or spirit (Matt. 6:22–23).

A legalistic giver gives out of compulsion, merely complying with an external requirement. However, a giver whose spirit is flooded with revelation concerning the significance of giving to spiritual growth and maturity gives freely, willingly, and joyfully — all motivated by the light within.

Without any external command, Jacob voluntarily committed himself to faithful tithing when he encountered the revelation of “Bethel” — the House of God (Gen. 28). A revelation of the church - God’s house - will anchor within you a solid commitment to financially give.

What God truly illuminates within your spirit cannot be ignored, for revelation activates a believer into a powerful and unstoppable flow of obedient action.

Give — not merely because someone instructed you to do so. Give because God has illuminated the eyes of your understanding. The measure of light within you will ultimately direct the measure of your giving.

The Shunammite woman built intentionally and strategically to house God’s grace and anointing invested within Elisha’s life.

She built a system of structural honour that took the relationship from a passing visit (occasional) to a prepared place of dwelling (covenant). She built an upper room and filled it with bed, table and chair and a
Lamp-stand. The example presents a blueprint, a design. Let’s take a look.
The UPPER ROOM:

Is a place where power is released and received.

• It is where the Shunamite woman’s dead son was raised to life. 2 kings 4:35

• Jesus shared the last supper in an upper room. Mark 14:15

• The disciples received the Holy Spirit in an upper room on the day of Pentecost. Acts 1&2

* THE BED

Symbolises rest and intimacy. It denotes a real and meaningful relationship Between spiritual father and son - not a superficial, one sided or manipulative one. It is deeply intimate built from one’s heart into one’s marriage and family. Placing the relationship in high esteem and value. This brings spiritual and natural rest to both parties. Moses was able to rest his hands on Aaron and Hur Ex 17:12 - enabling them to accomplish purpose together.

* THE CHAIR

Symbolizers authority and teaching. The son opens his life to receive instruction, correction, wisdom, and counsel. This is where great impartation takes place of wisdom and grace from father to son.

*THE TABLE:

Symbolizes fellowship and the word of God. The table is a place of relationship and feeding. A place of spiritual nourishment. Where father feeds the son spiritually from the word he receives from heaven.

* THE LAMPSTAND:

Symbolizes revelation and the presence of God. Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. The word that comes via spiritual fathers brings revelation to the son which helps him confidently navigate and walk on his path. As well as pursue his purpose in God. The lampstand in the tabernacle burnt continually. Spiritual fathers bring an anointing over a household that will fuel God’s constant presence and light within their home and family.
