Funeral Notice - Sharadbhai Naran – Fri, 11 Sep

The late Mr Sharadbhai Naran (69) from Observatory, husband of Isvaribhen, father of Veenabhen, Meelanbhai and Varishabhen and grandfather to Saaniyah, Ishara and Sachin passed away peacefully on Thursday, 10 September.

On Friday, 11 September 2026, the body will lie in state and the cremation will follow at the Maitland Crematorium commencing at 3 pm.

You are welcome to attend the prayers at the Crematorium.

Funeral Notice - Urmillabhen Valodia – Thu, 10 Sep

The late Mrs Urmillabhen Valodia (76) from Everest Road, Gatesville, wife of Jaiwantbhai Valodia, mother of Trishan, Taryn, Bhavesh and Ahneesh, and grandmother to Ravik passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 8 September.

The body will lie in state at the Samaj Centre hall from 10 am on Thursday, 10 September. The cremation will take place at the Maitland Crematorium at 12 noon.

You are welcome to attend the prayers at the hall and at the Crematorium.

The joyous festival of Navratri is almost here, and the Gandhi Memorial School invites you to a fun-filled Garba Workshop.

Whether you're a complete beginner or simply looking to brush up on your moves, come and learn the basic steps, rhythms, and graceful movements of this energetic traditional Garba folk dance. Most importantly, come prepared to have fun and celebrate the spirit of togetherness that makes Navratri so special.

Everyone is welcome! Young or old, male or female, experienced dancer or first-timer, this workshop is for YOU.

The Cape Hindu Bhajan Mandal invites you and your family to join us for the final evening of Bhajans of the auspicious Shravan month, commencing at 5.45pm in the Sri Radha Krishna Mandir.
We had decided for convenience to everyone to continue our Shravan programme to end on Sunday .

We invite all to participate on this evening of joyous and melodious bhajans with us
& also to join us for Maha Prashad in the Cultural Hall 🕉️💐

The Bhajans programme will be for 45 mins incl Jhankhana & Thar followed by a short program of gratitude speeches & Aarti to end off by 7.15pm
