The Eagle's Nest hike is a short, rewarding trail starting at Constantia Nek. It takes about 45 to 60 minutes round-trip and features panoramic views of Hout Bay, False Bay, the Constantia winelands, and the Cape Flats. It's an ideal, relatively easy trek for sunrise or quick daily exercise. AllTrails +2

Our end of month havan for milestones such as birthdays and anniversaries was combined yesterday with a Mother's Day programme.

Hemkalabhen Daya performed a beautiful havan, Sandhyabhen Ramjee gave a loving tribute to mothers and Rohitbhai Kooverjee led the congregation in the singing of the Hanuman Chalisa as well as several bhajans. After a group 'Mother's Day' photo in the Vishnu Mandir, devotees enjoyed a delicious tea in the Samaj Hall and an opportunity to socialise. 🙏

Last night the Vishnu Mandir was filled with the sounds that one imagined emanated from the sacred flute of Lord Krishna Himself as devotees were treated to a special recital by Shree Chetanbhai Rathod, an accomplished flutist and exponent of the sacred bamboo flute, the bansuri.

We are truly grateful to have had Chetanbhai play in the mandir and pleased that so many members and friends of the Vishnu Mandir braved the chilly evening to listen to the maestro.

Chetanbhai, who is a devoted disciple of Shree Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, performed classical tunes as well as well known bhajans. Devotees were mesmerised by the hour long sweet sounds created by Chetanbhai, accompanied by Mohanbhai Bhoola on tabla.

Thank you to Kavirbhai Daya for arranging this event and for the delicious tea enjoyed by everyone afterwards in the Samaj Hall. 🙏

Chetanbhai has completed a six week teaching programme in Cape Town where he had 33 students learning to play the bansuri. He is the founder of Harivenu, his dedicated bansuri teaching academy through which he has mentored and inspired hundreds of students.

Thank you Chetanbhai and safe journey back to India. 🙏

This afternoon Haresh Magan (Head: Welfare Committee) and Chairperson, Jaywant Parbhoo visited St George's Home for Girls in Bute Road, Wynberg. The Home sleeps 33 girls who attend various schools in the neighbouring areas. Our officials handed over food stuff as requested by the Home's management, as part of the CTHSS ongoing Seva projects.

We are thankful to the Diwali Golf Day enthusiasts for the generous donation which funds food related projects of the Samaj during 2026. 🙏
