Strandfontein Village East Easter Egg Hunt 2026.

Early birds catch the 1st Easter Eggs?

The parents and children gathered at church at 9am this morning and then made their way to Kirstenbosch Gardens for their Easter Hunt.

All the kids and parents of congregation gathered for fun, arts and crafts and games of the beautiful lawns, Deacon Meyer who also celebrates his birthday today, gave everyone a tour of the grounds while sunday school teachers setup the hunt and hide the chocolates all over the grounds and in the bushes

There was Easter Eggs gallor as kids ran wild searching to fill their packets super fast with as much as it could hold. Not one was dissapointed as they also received a surprise gift box from our Rector and his wife aswel.

Massive thank you to all who had a hand in putting this day together, the donations from the congregation of marshmallows and sweets. Strongs to the parents who has to manage the sugar rush these kids will have after today.

On Easter Sunday 5 April 2026, Rector P
Ashley Rudolph conducted a divine service in the congregation.
The sermon was based on the Bible text: John 20:17-18

Bible reading: Mark 16:1-15 done by Sis Cunningham

Message: The resurrection is central to our faith.

Summary:

■ The resurrection of Jesus Christ confirms His divine Sonship and the gospel.
■ The resurrection is the foundation of our faith.
■ Let us share the joy of the resurrection with our neighbour.

During the service Priest Joubert was called to serve.

After the closing hymn, few moments of fellowship were shared with the senoirs of the congregation while the choir member rendered a few hymn for them.

Good Friday Service - 03/04/2026

The Friday Divine Service was conducted by Rector Priest Ashley Rudolph, who called upon Priest Rael Cunningham to assist in the service. The congregation was ready to receive the Word of God and reflect on the significance of Christ’s sacrifice.

The Bible text for the service was taken from John 19:30 (NKJV), which highlights the moment when Jesus declared, “It is finished,” before giving up His spirit. It signifies the completion of His mission on earth — the fulfillment of God’s plan for salvation.

A Bible reading was done by Sis Bronwyn Solomans from Mark 15:22–39. This passage describes the crucifixion of Jesus, His suffering, and the events surrounding His death.

Summary
■ Jesus’ path to the cross was not a series of coincidences, but a necessity in salvation history.
■ The Son of God became human in order to save humankind from eternal death through His own death.
■ Jesus’ sacrificial death marks the beginning of a new era in salvation history: the new covenant.
■ Jesus’ sacrifice is equally valid for the living and the dead.

Prepare the Way for the Lord!

On a beautiful Palm Sunday morning, Divine Service was conducted by our Rector Priest, Ashley Rudolph, with a Bible word taken from Luke 19:36–37:

“Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen.”

Bible reading from Mark 11: 1-11 was done by Sis L November, and Priest Charles Du Plooy was called to serve along.

Message
Like the disciples during Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, we too are called to profess the Lord and prepare for His return.

All four Gospels recount the story of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. Matthew and Mark mention the crowd spreading palm branches on the road and shouting, “Hosanna!”

Palm Sunday reminds us of what it truly means to be a disciple:

●We prepare the way for the Lord by laying our lives at His feet.
●We bear witness to His deeds, which we have already seen and experienced.
●We acclaim Him as the King of Life, even in the shadow of the cross.

The service was concluded by the choir with a powerful rendition of “Hallelujah.”

YP Serving in Christ Initiative
As this was the last Sunday of the month, the Young People assisted with various congregation activities such as doorkeeping, ushering.

What a blessed day it was! We wish all members a blessed preparation for the upcoming Holy Passion Week.

Palm Sunday, celebrated on 29 March 2026, marks the beginning of a sacred journey into Holy Week.

The image reflects Jesus’ triumphant entry, as crowds welcomed Him with praise and anticipation.

It reminds us to prepare our hearts and lives for the coming of the Lord. May this day inspire faith, humility, and joyful devotion.
