The meaning of the word abuse according to the dictionary: something to make bad use of something, or to use so much of something that it harms your health. Abuse literally means “extreme use” and, in many instances, overuse of things lawful becomes sin. Food is good but extreme indulgence results in gluttony. Making money is essential but the love of money results in greed and the deceitfulness of riches hinders our spiritual life. What happened to the seeds that fell among the thorns? They grew and choked the plants. Yes the cares of this world, if not checked can choke the spiritual life out of us. Guard your heart from indulging in too much of anything. Let Christ be enthroned in your heart, let no one or nothing take His place.

- True freedom can only be found in Jesus Christ.
- The freedom He gives is life changing and brings rest and peace to our souls.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the freedom You give. Set me free from every fear, sin, and burden that holds me back. Help me to walk each day in the true freedom, peace, and life that only You can give. Amen.
