Tree of Life Tree of Life is a family of families with a heart to see Manenberg transformed through the radical love of Jesus

We love Jesus, we love Manenberg and we love each other - these loves are our main motivation in cultivating a shared life of faith and hope. We aim to live in generative contradiction to the spirit of apartheid - relationally, economically and spiritually. We believe that there's a dynamic interrelationship between the health of marginalised communities and the general social scene. This leads us

to believe that Cape Town’s transformation is inextricably linked to the transformation of Manenberg. Our life together involves meeting in living rooms in small pockets across Manenberg, and gathering together as an extended family twice a month. We live out our love for each other and community day to day, in each other’s home, and through some of the work we do together.

It touches the mind, the body, the spirit and the soul.

That's why life at Tree of Life isn't built around just one kind of support, but a rhythm of practices that create space for real, holistic healing.

From art and writing, to yoga and time in nature..
From spiritual formation and daily devotions, to rebuilding literacy and exploring healthy parenting..

Each piece plays a part in helping people rediscover wholeness, from the inside out.

Healing happens in many ways, and we're grateful to hold space for it all.

Mercy is one of those things that is non-negotiable for people who follow Jesus. The mercy we read about in the Bible comes from two Hebrew words meaning covenant love and womb-like compassion.

We want to be a church that lives out a love that doesn’t hold back and has fierce mother-like compassion for our neighbours, even if it costs us.

We are looking for *one day only* work shadow opportunities for some of our young adults (graduating from our programme) to observe, learn and get exposed to different kinds of work environments.

We want them to see a diverse range of work spaces, job roles and employments sectors.
