Pastor Ashley Abrahams preached on “The Authority of God” from Matthew 21:23–27.

“All authority comes from God.”

When we look at God’s system, we see that it is established to bring order in the House of the Lord. God gives parents authority over their children, and every person has been entrusted with a measure of authority. When we commit our lives to Jesus Christ, God entrusts us with a different level of authority according to His purpose.

Authority is given by God, it is not something we can obtain on our own.

If we do not live out the authority God has entrusted to us, He will ask, “What did you do with what I gave you?”

“The authority we receive from God is worth more than silver or gold.”

Nugget for the Week:

“The authority upon your life carries responsibility. Authority must be used to grow the Kingdom of God, to do our best, and to make others better. It is dangerous to abandon or abuse authority. Our authority does not make us better than others, nor does it give us the right to do as we please. God will judge us according to how we steward what He has entrusted to us.”

2nd Children Evangelism Ministry Outreach ❤️🙏

This past outreach 9 May 2026 we visited Malawi Camp, opposite Bishop Lavis — an informal settlement where about 1000 families are living, with some staying there for nearly 30 years. Many families are without running water and experience intermittent electricity, often left in darkness.

Our mission is to reach as many children as possible and present them with the greatest gift of all — Jesus Christ ✝️

While feeding them physically is important, their spiritual wellbeing is just as critical. What an emotional and heartwarming day it was as we shared the love of God with these precious children.

By God’s grace, 60 children were fed and received gifts from our Children Evangelism Ministry. Seeing their smiles and joy reminded us why this ministry is so important.

Please continue to keep these children and families in your prayers. May we continue being the hands and feet of Jesus in our communities ❤️

Pastor Derick Abrahams ministered from Mark 9:14, declaring:
“It is time to RISE UP!”

Mark 9:14–29 recounts the powerful moment when Jesus healed a boy possessed by a mute spirit after His disciples were unable to do so. This passage highlights the contrast between human weakness and the limitless power of God, reminding us that true spiritual authority comes through complete dependence on Him in prayer and faith.

As a church and congregation, we are under serious attack. The enemy is relentless, and lawlessness has become normalized in society. Now more than ever, the Church must rise up and take its rightful position.

“The world has accepted that if we live in things that are unacceptable, it is acceptable.”

One of the greatest challenges within the Church is silence. When things go wrong, too often we remain quiet. We live in a society where values have shifted, and instead of uniting to raise a banner against darkness, we find ourselves fighting amongst one another.

We have become a generation that sleeps when it is time to sound the alarm.

“WE MUST BE READY FOR WAR!”

Too often we carry opinions instead of the power of God. If we refuse to fight spiritually, the tools God has given us will remain unused.

This generation seeks easy solutions, "A faithless generation."

“The Faithless Generation” (Mark 9:19)

Jesus expressed frustration not only with His disciples, but also with the unbelief of the crowd surrounding Him. Yet, despite their lack of faith, He still demonstrated His power and compassion.

“Help My Unbelief!” (Mark 9:20–24)

When the spirit saw Jesus, it violently threw the boy to the ground. The boy’s father, weary and desperate, cried out asking Jesus for help. Jesus responded:

“All things are possible for one who believes.”

The father then prayed one of the most honest and powerful prayers in Scripture:

“I believe; help my unbelief!”

He acknowledged both his faith and his struggle, a reminder that God honors sincerity and dependence on Him.

As the Church, we should desire growth and spiritual maturity. It must become our natural instinct to grow where God has planted us. The enemy’s strategy is to keep us bound, isolated, and powerless. He seeks to remove us from influence and silence our voice in society.

Nugget for the Week

“BE READY TO ATTACK; STAND READY FOR YOUR FAMILY!
Be disciplined and do not allow the enemy to bring condemnation over you. The enemy’s goal is to discourage you, but you must remember that the battle is real. Take up your weapons, put on the full armor of God, and stand firm. Be truthful. Be righteous. Carry and proclaim the Gospel of peace. Pray in the Spirit.”

“Be the voice for the voiceless. Open your mouth, raise your voice, and sound the alarm.”
