Letter from John L Kriel New Apostolic Church Southern Africa.

To: All members in South Africa 27 May 2020

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Resumption of divine services

On Tuesday evening, 26 May 2020, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that religious services may resume, subject to certain regulations, during level three of the national lockdown. With the introduction of government’s risk adjusted strategy religious gatherings were only permitted after lockdown level one. Along with other denominations, we have
presented various proposals to the President and his COVID-19 Command Council. Since the start of lockdown, members of the New Apostolic Church united in prayer for the swift resumption of divine services. We are thus truly thankful to the President for this decision which takes effect on 01 June 2020
The President also announced that all religious organizations are required to put protocols in place for the thorough cleaning and sanitizing of places of worship before and after divine services. Social distancing, the wearing of masks and strict hygiene guidelines must also be followed, and no more than 50 people may gather for in church buildings.
The church currently awaits further briefings from ministerial departments on the President’s announcements.

On Sunday 07 June 2020, after the audio-visual transmission service, I will communicate to you the process which we will follow in the resumption of our divine service. At this point I want to assure you that our focus will be on providing a safe and hygienic environment for all to experience the divine services. It is our earnest desire to return to church. Let us
remain united in prayer so that we can do so in a safe and timeous manner.

In full observance of the President’s call for a day of prayer, all Apostles will have prayers with the Rectors at 09h30 on Sunday, 31 May 2020. While we cannot pray together physically, your Rector will represent you at these special online gatherings.

We look forward to celebrating the birth of our church and the serving of our Chief Apostle on Sunday 31 May 2020. I wish you and your loved ones a most blessed Pentecost divine service.

Warm regards,
sign. John L KRIEL
