JEHOVAH JIREH IS OUR KEY TO DIVINE PROVISION

BIBLE READING: GENESIS 22:1-18; PSALMS 104:10-29, 145:15-16; MATTHEW 6:8-34; LUKE 12:22-34

And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” Gen 22:14 (NKJV)

The Revelation of Jehovah Jireh is one very Important revelation that every Genuine Christian Believer needs to have in order to utilize and enjoy the benefits of the New Covenant. The Holy Scriptures make us understand that God "Has given to us all things that pertain to Life and Godliness" (2 Pet. 1:3). However, it is unfortunate to note that when it comes to material provision, many Christian Believers are less passionate in their Faith because the devil has somehow succeeded in convincing them that it is unrighteous to have and enjoy material possessions i.e., to feed well, clothe well, own beautiful things that make life easy and enjoyable. The Lord God Almighty is our Source and Sustainer. In the Seventh Chapter of the Gospel according to Mathew, the Lord Jesus pointed out Deep Truths about how important providing for us is to our Heavenly Father. He pointed out how much care the Father takes in clothing the lillies of the field which are of little consequence when compared to us that He made in His Own Image and Likeness. Christ also showed us how the Father takes care to feed all the animals He created without fail.

As children of God, our Provision and Sustenance is not dependent on our jobs, businesses or human sponsors. These are only channels through which God can choose to provide for us for a time as His Will permits, and He is not limited to these predictable channels because we see many instances in the Holy Scriptures where He provided for His people Supernaturally through the most unusual and unpredictable channels. For instance, He provided food for Elijah through a ravenous bird for a period of time (1 Kgs. 17:2-6) after which another much later time He did the same through an Angel (1 Kgs. 19:5-8). He rained food down from Heaven for His people in the wilderness for 40 years without failing for one day (Ex. 16:35). He also provided them more meat than they all could consume in the wilderness (Num. 11:18-20). He also gave them water from the Rock when the entire nation of Israel was thirsty (Ex. 17:6). God also sustained clothes on their bodies and sandals on their feet for the entire 40 years (Deut. 8:4, 29:5) thereby proving the Sacred Words of Christ that He cares about our all round wellbeing. God not only provides for our consumption but He also provides for us to serve Him. We see this with Abraham and numerous other instances in the Bible whereby He provides for us to be a blessing to others (2 Cor. 9:8).

There are certain requirements we need to meet in order to enjoy Supernatural Provision:

1. UNDERSTANDING THAT IT IS ONE OF THE BENEFITS OF THE NEW COVENANT: Without this awareness, the devil would keep us from that which Christ has already made available to us in the New Covenant.

2. OBEDIENCE: This is a very important Key to Divine Provision. Abraham, Elijah, Moses and all our Scriptural examples experienced Divine Provision because of their Prompt Obedience to God's Instructions.

3. TOTAL TRUST AND DEPENDENCE ON GOD AS OUR SOURCE: As long as we put our trust in humans and human systems for our provision, we will be limited in how much we can experience God's Abundant Supernatural Provision. Divine Provision is not optional for the Christian Believer; it has been signed, sealed and settled by Christ's Death on the Cross. To enjoy Abundance on Earth and advance the Kingdom of God, we must learn how to plug into the Infinite Source of Abundant Provision which is JEHOVAH JIREH, the Lord our Provision.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, we honour and glorify You today for Your Provision. O Lord, please grant us a Comprehensive Revelation of Jehovah Jireh in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.

ANATOMY OF THE ENCOUNTER RETREAT

LUKE 24:49; ACTS 13:1-3; PSALM 36:9; MARK 9:2-4

"And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a Light from Heaven: And he fell to the Earth, and heard a Voice saying unto him, 'Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me?' And he said, Who art Thou, Lord?' And the Lord said, 'I am Jesus Whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the Pricks.' And he trembling and astonished said, 'Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?' And the Lord said unto him, 'Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do" Acts 9:3-6(KJV).

The Encounter Retreat is a Unique Type of Retreat that New Converts or Christian believers must go through for the Purpose of encountering Jesus and the Work of the Old Rugged Cross (1 Cor. 2:2). The Primary Purpose of the Encounter Retreat is for the Consolidation of the new Christian believers, for their Deliverance and for dealing with any remaining hold of the devil and the world on their lives. Although it is emphasized primarily for new Christian believers, it's not exclusively for them alone. Old believers can and are expected to go through the Encounter Retreat from time to time. In such a case, it is known as "Re-Encounter" or "Post-Encounter." The Encounter Retreat is specially designed and structured in such a way that it is rare for anyone to pass through it without having a Deep Encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Encounter Retreat has so many Benefits for the Christian believer. It's a Key Pillar of the Discipleship-Making Process. The topics addressed handle special issues such as "Un******ng for Circumcision", Understanding the Holy Spirit, Dealing with Foundations, The Blood of Jesus and so on." Included in each Encounter Retreat are Teaching Sessions, Prayer Sessions, Ministration Sessions, Breakout Sessions, Deliverance Sessions and One-on-one Counselling Sessions (2 Cor. 3:17-18). All of these Sessions take place over the space of about three days, making the Encounter Retreat a life transforming Seventy-Two hour Experience at the Foot of the Old Rugged Cross.

The Sessions have been uniquely designed to help each participant internalize the messages and experience Real Genuine Transformation. Without The Encounter Retreat, it would be difficult if not impossible to raise True Disciples of Jesus that can go the long haul and stand no matter the degree of persecution or challenges they may face. The Lord Jesus always took His Disciples apart for a time, away from the crowd, so they could encounter God and His Glory. The Disciples also had these regular Times of Separation to Prayer, Fasting and the Study of the Word (Acts 6:4; 13:1-3). It is in Meetings such as this that men are made, life-changing directions are received and Ministries are deployed.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, we glorify You today. Lord Jesus, please birth within us the Hunger to know You more and more. May that Hunger drive us to the Place of Encounter whereby we may be transformed into True Disciples that make Disciples and bring Glory and Honour to the Father in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.

WORSHIPPING GOD IN THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS

BIBLE READING: PSALM 29:2; 1 CHRONICLES 16:29; PSALM 96:9; 2 CHRONICLES 20:20-30; ACTS 16:20-28

"Give unto the Lord the Glory due unto His Name; worship the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness." Psalm 29:2 (NKJV)

Worshipping the Lord God Almighty in the Beauty of Holiness basically means that we as Genuine Christian believers are required to humble ourselves before Him and approach Him as well as serve Him with Awe and Reverence. It also means to celebrate our Covenant Relationship with God because we are one with Him. The aforementioned Scriptural Text admonishes us to worship God in the "Beauty of Holiness." Anything that is beautiful must objectively be deemed as desirable and accepted. We have been entrusted with a Divine Responsibility to clothe ourselves with the Holiness and Beauty of our Lord Jesus Christ "That He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of Water by the Word, THAT HE MIGHT PRESENT HER TO HIMSELF A GLORIOUS CHURCH, NOT HAVING SPOT, OR WRINKLE, OR ANY SUCH THING; BUT THAT SHE SHOULD BE HOLY AND WITHOUT BLEMISH" (Eph. 5:26-27). It is only natural to panic and complain anytime we are threatened by lack, danger, sickness or death. Nevertheless, those who dwell with God carry the Fragrance of God, thereby repelling that which attacks us.

King Jehoshaphat, one of the greatest kings of the Southern Kingdom, led Judah to prevail against a large multitude of hostile enemy forces solely using the Weapon of Praise. Jehoshaphat "appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the Beauty of Holiness..." (2 Chron. 20:21-22). The outcome was that God Himself took over the battle when they began to praise the Beauty of His Holiness. The Holy Scriptures say the enemy forces fought and destroyed each other: "For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped" (2 Chron. 20:23-24). The next verse emphasizes the result of wholeheartedly worshipping the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness: "And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in Abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much" (vs 25).

The implication of celebrating the Beauty of Holiness is that we know we belong to Him and that He is equally committed to us therefore whatever affects us affects Him. This is the proper way we commit Him to our battles and challenges. In addition, to celebrate the Beauty of Holiness means to celebrate the Very Essence, Character and Attributes of the Thrice Holy God Himself. To praise the Beauty of Holiness is to recall and magnify all the Great Attributes of the Lord God Almighty. He is the Sovereign of all of Creation, the Great God Jehovah! He is the God of Integrity Who does not break His Covenant, nor does He fail to fulfil any of His Promises (Ps. 89:34). He is Perfectly Faithful and Reliable! He is Jealous over us and protects us as members of His Glorious Family. There is absolutely nothing that is capable of adding to or subtracting from Him because He remains the Same yesterday, today and forever (Heb. 13:8). Hallelujah! Glory to the Lamb.

PRAYERS:

Heavenly Father, we magnify You today. O Lord, please reveal to us how to worship You acceptably in the Beauty of Your Holiness in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.
