The Saving Effects of the Sacraments

On Sunday, 06 September 2026, Rector, Priest Joseph Swartbooi conducted the special Friendship divine service at Erica West Congregation, and Priest Altene Beavie were called to serve alongside him.

All guests, family and friends, were warmly welcomed by our Rector.

The Bible text used as basis for the divine service was taken from 1 John 5:8 and reads as follows:
“And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one."

Message
We receive salvation in Christ visibly by receiving the sacraments.

On Friday, 4 September 2026, the Young People of Erica West held a special G2G at the home of one of our congregation members, in preparation for our upcoming Friendship Service.

The evening began with a meaningful spiritual discussion led by our Young People Coordinators, encouraging our young people to reflect on the importance of friendship and to invite someone special to join us for fellowship.

They then enjoyed an evening filled with games, laughter, a warm bonfire and delicious snacks. 🔥🎲😊

A beautiful evening of fellowship, connection and growing together as young people. ❤️

On Sunday, 30 August 2026, the divine service was conducted by Community Evangelist, Paul Cupido, and Priest Elgernon Paulse was called to serve alongside him.

The Bible text for the service was taken from Exodus 20:13, which reminds us of the commandment, “You shall not murder.”

The service was a reflection of the value of life, the importance of respecting others, and living according to God’s commandments. The message encouraged us to show love, kindness, and consideration towards one another in our daily lives.

Message:

God alone is Lord over life and death.

During the divine service, the Community Evangelist performed the special act of Holy Baptism, and eight souls were welcomed into the faith.

The congregation was filled with gratitude, welcoming the individuals into their spiritual community with love.

On Sunday 30 August 2026, following a blessed divine service, the Sunday school children gathered for their lesson.

This was a lesson with a difference, as the ministers had the opportunity to present the lesson to the children.

The children really enjoyed it, as they could also interact with the ministers differently. This brought about great joy to their little hearts.

On 28 August 2026, we joyfully celebrated the 70th birthday of our beloved Sister Veronica Samuels.

We give thanks to God for blessing her with 70 wonderful years of life, love, and grace. May He continue to guide, strengthen, and bless her abundantly in the years ahead.
