One of the greatest tests of faith isn’t found on a mountaintop, it’s found in the everyday moments when someone lets us down, misunderstands us, or simply isn’t who we wish they’d be.
Colossians 3:13 speaks directly into those moments: ‘Bear with one another, and forgive one another, if any one has a complaint against another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.’
We were never meant to walk this journey surrounded by perfect people, because none of us are perfect either. Every marriage, every friendship, every team is made up of flawed people doing their best to love well. That means friction is inevitable. But so is grace, if we choose it.
Making allowance for each other’s faults doesn’t mean ignoring sin or avoiding hard conversations. It means leading with patience instead of judgment. It means remembering how much we’ve been forgiven before we decide how much we’re willing to forgive. It means choosing to see the person, not just the offense.
Because that’s the love Christ first showed us.
