Day 5: Get Up and Walk

Scripture:

“So he jumped up and started to walk, and he entered the temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God.” Acts 3:8 (CSB)

Reflection:

When the man received healing, everything changed. He did not stay at the gate. He got up, walked, and entered the temple praising God. His identity shifted from beggar to witness.
Jesus does not just improve our condition. He invites us into a new way of living. “Get up and walk” is a call to step out of old patterns, old labels, and old limitations.

Many of us have been defined by past struggles or repeated rejection. We have grown comfortable in places that God is calling us out of. But His power enables us to step into something new.
The story does not end with personal transformation. Others saw the change and were amazed. Our healing becomes a testimony that points people to God.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to get up and walk in the life You have given me. Free me from old patterns and limited thinking. Let my life reflect Your power and bring glory to You.

Amen.

Day 4: What You Really Need

Scripture :

“But Peter said, ‘I don’t have silver or gold, but what I do have, I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk.”
Acts 3:6 (CSB)

Reflection:

The man asked for money, but he needed healing. Peter did not give what was requested. He gave what was needed. Through the name of Jesus, he offered transformation instead of temporary relief.

We often ask God for things that help us get through the day. God sees beyond the moment. He desires to change our lives at a deeper level. He offers healing where we ask for comfort. He offers freedom where we ask for survival.

This teaches us something important. What God gives may not match what we ask for, but it will always be better. He knows what truly matters and what will bring lasting change.

We are also reminded that we can only give what we have. Peter had the name of Jesus, and that was enough. As ambassadors, we must stay connected to Christ so that we can offer others something real.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for giving me what I truly need. Help me to trust Your wisdom when Your answers look different than my requests. Fill my life with Your presence so I can share You with others.

Amen.

Day 3: Rejection as Redirection

Scripture:

“We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28 (CSB)

Reflection:

Rejection is painful. It leaves wounds that shape how we see ourselves and others. But what feels like rejection can sometimes be God’s redirection.

The man at the gate had experienced countless rejections. Yet those very moments placed him in the exact position to encounter Peter and John. What looked like a pattern of disappointment became the setup for a miracle.

Throughout Scripture, God uses rejection as a turning point. Joseph was rejected and ended up in a place of influence. David was overlooked and became king. Even Jesus was rejected, yet His rejection led to resurrection and salvation.

When something closes, or someone walks away, it does not mean God has abandoned you. It may mean He is directing you somewhere better.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to trust You in moments of rejection. Give me the perspective to see Your hand at work even when I do not understand. Guide me where You want me to go and help me to follow Your direction.

Amen.

Day 2: When Expectations Shrink

Scripture:

“So he turned to them, expecting to get something from them.” Acts 3:5 (CSB)

Reflection:

The man asked for money, not healing. His request reveals his expectations. Years of rejection had trained him to think small. He did not ask for a transformation. He asked for survival.

Repeated disappointment can shrink our faith. It teaches us to ask cautiously and to expect less. We begin to guard our hearts from hope to avoid pain. We stop believing in more.

We do this with God, too. We pray, but we do not expect. We ask, but we assume the answer will be no. We look away before the response even comes.

God invites us to lift our expectations. He is not limited by what we have experienced before. What we have settled for is often far less than what He desires to give.

Prayer:

Father, forgive me for allowing disappointment to shrink my expectations. Help me to trust You again. Teach me to believe that You can do more than I have seen before. Strengthen my faith in You.

Amen.

Day 1: Seen by God

Scripture:

“Peter, along with John, looked straight at him and said, ‘Look at us.’” Acts 3:4 (CSB)

Reflection:

It is possible to see someone often and yet stop truly seeing them. The lame man at the gate was part of the daily scene. People passed by him on their way to worship, but his pain had become background noise. His condition was visible, but his humanity was ignored.

When Peter and John stopped, everything changed. They did not look past him. They looked at him. They recognized his dignity and saw him as someone made in the image of God.

Sometimes we feel invisible. We feel overlooked in our struggles or dismissed in our pain. But God never treats us like background noise. He sees us fully. He knows our story. He recognizes our value.

As followers of Christ, we are also called to see others the same way. We cannot represent Jesus if we ignore the people He came to save. To be ambassadors means to pause, to notice, and to care.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for seeing me even when others overlook me. Help me to remember that I am never invisible to You. Open my eyes to truly see the people around me and to care for them as You do.

Amen.
