Come and be with us on Sunday as a son of Trinity, The Rt. Rev. Mark Hollingsworth, Jr. retired Bishop for the Diocese of Ohio, joins us for a Rite II service at 10:30am.

Bishop Hollingsworth was baptized in Trinity Church, York Harbor, 73 years ago. He was ordained in 1981 and has served as a school chaplain, a parish priest, and on a diocesan staff. Elected the Eleventh Bishop of Ohio in 2003, he retired four years ago, in the twentieth year of his episcopate. He and his wife, Sue, along with their four grown children, have spent some of each summer in their Kittery Point home and they have now moved to York Harbor on a permanent basis.

Our 2026 Trinity Summer Concert Series continues on Sunday at 5:00pm with talented musicians, Gina Connelly, Anne Corriveau, Terrie Harman and Wendell Purrington presenting a wide-ranging program of classic and popular favorites for soprano including solos and duets with tunes from the American songbook, and songs from Broadway. A performance you don't want to miss!

Admission is always free. A free will offering at the door is gratefully appreciated to help support the concert series. Do come and enjoy a cool evening in this amazing setting!

A warm welcome to The Rt. Rev. W. Nicholas Knisley, Bishop of the Diocese of Rhode Island

Bishop Nicholas Knisely is the thirteenth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island. He studied Physics and Astronomy before attending seminary and later as a priest. For more than twenty years he has taught and written on the intersection of faith and science.

He has the role of "Lead Bishop for Science" in the Episcopal Church and is the liaison for the Episcopal Church to the Anglican Communion Science Commission. His present work is focused on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on church and society.

As a priest he led spiritual outings and outdoor adventure retreats. As bishop he has participated in the Connecticut River Pilgrimage and designed and co-lead the Wood River Pilgrimage. The diocese he serves is installing a large solar power facility that will be provide discounted renewable energy to non-profits in the state

On Aug. 4, 1965, the U.S. Senate passed the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which President Lyndon Johnson signed into law two days later. Because our faith tradition proclaims that every human being is equally loved by God, The Episcopal Church has consistently advocated for voting rights for all Americans, and calls on Congress to repair recent damage to the Voting Rights Act by passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. We are excited to have The Rev. Molly T James with us on Sunday for the 10:30am service. Molly currently serves as the Interim Executive Officer of General Convention for The Episcopal Church. She holds a PhD in Theology from the University of Exeter (UK), a Masters of Divinity from Yale Divinity School and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Tufts University. She grew up in Maine and was ordained as a priest in 2005. She has served on the Bishops’ Staff in Connecticut, as a parish priest, and a hospital chaplain, as well as an adjunct professor focusing on ethics and pastoral care. Her doctoral research focused on suffering and grief. Her work, With Joyful Acceptance, Maybe was published in 2013 by Wipf and Stock. Molly previously served as co-chair of Young Clergy Women International (an ecumenical organization of clergy women under 40), and as a board member for the Society of Scholar Priests. She is currently co-chair of the Faith Communities Today research consortium, a board member for the Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies, and the Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance. She has two children and loves cooking, reading, travel, and spending time in the splendor of God’s creation.

In our Diocesan Cycle of Prayer we pray today for the summer chapels of St. Philip's by the Sea, Fortune's Rocks, and Trinity Chapel, York Harbor. We pray also for the members and the work of our Council on Indigenous Relations.
