Prophet Elias church is centrally located and is the only Greek Orthodox Church in the City of Yonkers. Founded in 1940, our Parish serves the Orthodox faithful in the western part of Westchester County, along the Hudson River, starting from the upper Bronx extending as far as Ossining and the surrounding area.

A BLESSED WEEK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT! Join us this evening for a Spirit-Filled Vigil service as we commemorate the Feast of the Holy Father Metrophanes, Archbishop of Constantinople.

"Godly-minded Saint, by faith and godly orientation, * famous Patriarch, your mind * was splendidly deified and most beautiful. * Even in a mortal, perishable body, * contemplating immortality, * all-wise one, it acquired * radiance like that of the bodiless; * outside the passions’ influence, * it attained dispassion adorning it. * O all-holy Father and Hierarch, the Church’s brilliant star, * you intercede for our souls as we call you blest, O Metrophanes."
