And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. (Colossians 3:15)

The Greek word for peace here is eirene, which means quietness and assurance. The word translated as rule is brabeuo, which means to arbitrate, to govern. So what Paul was saying is this: let that quietness, that settled assurance, be the thing that governs you on the inside. When a decision must be made, let peace be the judge and have the final say. That would be significant enough on its own, but Paul added something that makes it even weightier. He says that all believers are called to operate together in this way, including the whole body of believers.

See, the Bible does not tell you which house to buy. It does not tell you which city to move to, which job offer to take, or which door to walk through when two are open at the same time. The specific details of daily life are not spelled out chapter and verse in the Bible. So how do you navigate those things? You follow peace.

Following peace is a skill, and like any skill, it must be developed. Think about a professional basketball player shooting free throws. The first time he picked up a ball, he did not automatically make it from the line. He shot bricks. He missed. The form was off. But over thousands of days of practice and repetition, something changed. He became sensitive to exactly how the ball needed to leave his hand. He could feel the difference between a shot that was right and one that was slightly off before it even left his fingers. That sensitivity did not come from talent alone. It came from time and repetition, building something that could not be faked or rushed.

The Holy Ghost is not outside giving you signals. He is inside. And He will give you that peace as direction if you have become sensitive enough to recognize it. Follow the peace.

Practical Application

As you pray consistently, spend time in the Spirit, and keep putting yourself in a position to hear and follow God, your sensitivity increases. Over time, you notice things: a check on the inside when you are about to go left or a pulling back when something looks good on the outside but something on the inside says no. You will start being settled when you are moving in the right direction, even if your head says, “No.”

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. (Romans 11:29)

God does not change His mind about what He has called you to. That is what this verse says. Without repentance means without reversal, or without taking it back. God knew what He was doing when He called you. He knew every failure you would ever have, every season you would walk through, every time you would fall short. And He called you anyway.

That calling did not come with an expiration date. But here is the thing about a calling—it does you little good if you treat it casually. The practical steps that remove fog and darkness from your life are not things you try a few times to see if something happens. They are not a spiritual experiment you run when you feel like it and set aside when life gets busy. They are a lifestyle. That means this is what you do.

A man who has spent his life pastoring a church knows what he does. He knows who he is. Someone can sit across from him and try to tell him how to run a church without a single day of pastoral experience behind them, and it will not move him. Why? Because this is what he does. He has obeyed command after command in that specific calling until the gift and the man became inseparable. You cannot talk him out of it.

That is the kind of settled identity God wants every believer to have in their calling and in their walk with Him. When your spiritual disciplines become a lifestyle rather than an occasional practice, being settled develops. The fog does not have the same grip on a person who has been consistently pressing into God day after day as it does on someone who picks it up and puts it down.

Practical Application

This is what you should do every day because you understand what is at stake and you understand who you are in God. Your gifts are permanent. Your calling is permanent. The only variable is whether you will pursue both with passion.

VBS 2026 is truly an unforgettable year. Six days of fun, love, laughter, new friendships, and exploring God’s nature. Day 6, WOF-Yazoo took Fun Day to the splash pad. We prayed for great weather, shade, and God’s cool breeze, and God heard and answered us. We do not want VBS to end. From the kids to the volunteers, we all had a joyous time. We would like to thank all the parents and grandparents for trusting us with your little blessings this week. This is not goodbye, but see you soon. ❤️

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. (Ephesians 1:19-23)

Paul wrote, “What is the exceeding greatness of His power toward those who believe?" And then he wrote the answer. It is the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. It is not a lesser version of it. It is the same power. Let that land for a moment. The most dramatic display of divine power in human history was the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Death is the final enemy. It is the one thing no human being has ever defeated on their own. And God's power overwhelmed it completely, raising Jesus not just to life but to the right hand of the Father in heavenly places: “Far above every principality. Far above every power, every might, every dominion. Far above every name that carries any authority anywhere, in this world or the one to come.” Then Paul added that God put all things under the feet of Jesus and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body.

The church is not a building or an organization. It is the body of Christ. And if Jesus is the head, and all things are under His feet, then the body He is head over is walking in that same authority and operating under that same covering. When I pray for others, I’m not going through a religious routine. I’m making a daily declaration over lives that this resurrection power, this authority that sits far above everything the enemy can bring, and is actively working toward the people I am covering in prayer. The power Paul described here is not historical. It is present, active, and in every believer who will receive it by faith.

Practical Application

Pray these verses specifically over your family members by name, declaring that this resurrection power is actively working in their lives. Keep a record of what begins to shift.

Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. (Ephesians 1:16-18)

Paul wrote that God wants to give believers the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. It is not wisdom in general or as a broad concept. It is wisdom and revelation, specifically, in the knowledge of God Himself. The more you know God, really know Him, the more wisdom and revelation flow as a natural result of that knowing. And then Paul got even more specific. He prayed that the eyes of your understanding would be enlightened. In other words, that the inner capacity to perceive and comprehend spiritual things would open up in a way that makes the hope of your calling visible and the riches of your inheritance as a saint of God real and tangible. I pray this prayer over myself every morning, not as a ritual but as a deliberate, expectant act of faith. I have noticed that after consistently praying this, I gain more revelation, then more, then more on top of that. That is the pattern God uses, and praying this prayer consistently puts you in the flow of it.

You can personalize this prayer. Put your name in it. Pray it over yourself daily. And you can pray it over others, too, including people who are not yet saved, because one of the primary reasons people remain in unbelief is that their eyes of understanding have not yet been opened. They are in darkness. They cannot see what is plainly visible to the person whose spiritual eyes have been enlightened. Pray for their eyes to open the same way you pray for your own. God is no respecter of persons. What I have experienced is for you, too. The same prayer is available to you. Start today and do not stop.

Practical Application

Write out Ephesians 1:16-18 and personalize it with your own name. Pray it over yourself every morning this week without missing a day. Also, identify one person in your life whose eyes of understanding need to be opened, and begin praying this prayer over them by name.

We’re almost at the finish line with VBS! From the very first day until now, it has been an incredible journey—VBS has truly been mind-blowing. The kids are on fire for Jesus! On Day 4, we learned about the depth of God’s love: He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die for us and rise again, showing us the greatest love story ever told. Today is Day 5, and we can’t wait to see what God has in store!
