Faith Doesn't Ignore Reality, but Still Trusts God Promises

Abraham faced a reality that seemed to contradict God's promise. Yet he refused to make his circumstances greater than the God who had spoken.

Faith doesn't pretend the problem isn't real. Faith simply refuses to believe the problem is greater than God's power.

Is there a circumstance you've allowed to become bigger in your thinking than God's promise?

Are You Measuring God's Ability by Your Limited Perspective?

Isaiah reminds us: "Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save..." (Isaiah 59:1). The Hebrew word for "save" (yāšaʽ) means to rescue, deliver, bring into freedom, and grant victory. God doesn't merely help us cope with impossible situations. He delivers us from them.

We count the budget. We count the volunteers. We look at attendance, facilities, and available resources and sometimes conclude, “We don't have enough.”

Our circumstances may seem overwhelming to us, but they never overwhelm our God. There is no degree of difficulty with God. What seems impossible with humans remains completely possible with God (Mark 10:27).

God has never been limited by what limits us. Our greatest challenge may not be the size of our problem, but the size of our view (perspective) of God. God's arm is not too short to save, rescue, bring into freedom or grant victory.

Here is a question to ponder: Where might God be asking you to see His greatness instead of your limitations?

Every ministry leader eventually faces something that feels bigger than their experience, resources, or ability. In those moments, God asks us the same question He asked Moses: “Is the LORD’s arm too short?” Numbers 11:23

The size of the challenge has never determined the size of God's ability. What looks impossible to us is never impossible to Him.

What are you facing today that requires you to trust God beyond what you can see? His arm is not too short to help you today!

Every leader eventually encounters a moment that no amount of planning, experience, or hard work can solve. Attendance declines. Finances tighten. A key leader steps away. A family crisis interrupts your focus.

The vision God gave you suddenly feels larger than your resources, your energy, and perhaps even your faith. Those moments often produce a question we rarely say out loud: "God... where are You?" This question still reverberates to every pastor and ministry leader today.

I wrote this blog to encourage every leader who is facing this today. This blog will help you lift your eyes, renew your focus and stand firm.

Our circumstances may seem overwhelming to us, but they never overwhelm our God. There is no degree of difficulty with God. With God all things are possible!

As the Apostle Paul is closing out his letter to the believers in Colosse, one of his closing instructions is to be devoted to prayer with an alert mind and thankful heart. These speak to me today. Maybe they will speak to you as well.

1. The importance of a devotion to prayer. Make prayer more than an occasional response; make it a consistent rhythm of your life and relationship with God.

2. Pray with an alert mind. Pray with spiritual awareness, being attentive to God while you pray, not simply speaking to Him, but alert, listening, and discerning what He may be revealing or prompting.

3. Having a thankful heart. Let gratitude shape your prayers, remembering God’s faithfulness and thanking Him because He watches over His word to perform it (Is.55:11, Jer.1:12) even while you are still waiting for the answer.

Enjoy your day and keep Jesus first place in your life!!

Expectancy changes the way we lead.

When we believe God is actively at work in people’s lives, we begin to see first-time guests, community connections, and unexpected questions differently. We stop seeing accidents and start recognizing opportunities.

A full schedule can make us efficient—but it can also make us unavailable.

Ministry leaders need plans, but we also need open hands. Ask the Lord today: “Is there someone You want me to notice, encourage, or serve today?”
