It’s Tuesday, friends!
Lie: I am a burden.
Truth: I am a blessing.
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. … And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.” Genesis 1:27, 31
The bottom line with this lie is that you can’t have any relationships, because if you do, you will burden other people simply by being you. The devil wants you thinking this because he wants to isolate you. He wants you alone so he can continue to suck you in to sin and brokenness.
He doesn’t want you to have a chance to hear the truth. How can he do this? By pulling you away from people who would tell you the truth.
If you’ve never heard this before now, let me tell you: YOU ARE NOT A BURDEN.
God designed you, and He knows every single flaw that you have better than anyone else does. He was INTENTIONAL with designing you (including the very thing that you might not like about yourself)! He has made you in His image.
“Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalm 139:16
The truth is, even what the enemy means for evil, God turns for our good. He takes our brokenness and the parts of us we’d rather not “burden” others with, and uses them to glorify His Name.
So if you feel like a burden, know that God has big enough shoulders to carry that for you. And He has called you wonderful, beautiful, precious, and a blessing to those around you. He created everything beautiful in the world, and decided that this world needed one of you, too. Remember that.
