Reminder to tend your garden (Colossians 3:5-17)! All of us have weeds that we need to get rid of, and flowers that we need to plant. Connect with the people around you, remember that Jesus is your example, and start with one step!

This is such an amazing reminder of truth! Our culture subtly (or not so subtly) tells us that good things happen to good people - and you may even see proof of this sometimes in your life. But that's not what the Gospel tells us. We are under grace, not the law, and while our actions matter, they are not what gets us into heaven. Surrender and trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins is the only way to heaven!

On Sunday, we talked about falling back into old habits of trying to earn your salvation. Remember that it is only ever about what God has done for us - we aren't just "imperfect" without Jesus, we are DEAD. The good news is, Jesus made us alive again in Him! He has begun a good work in us and will carry it to completion.

Happy Monday! Yesterday we had a great reminder to run like you began (not begun, sorry, Ben). Do you remember when you first became a Christian? Were you eager? Excited? Thankful? As you continue to grow up in faith, don't lose sight of the gratitude and excitement you once had!

God absolutely cares about the details of our lives, but sometimes we get stuck in the day to day and forget to think about the bigger picture. Be encouraged today to pray those big, scary prayers, and to keep eternity in your heart as you bring your worries to the cross.

This Sunday: The 2nd Annual S-Emmy's! In one night, there will be a film shoot, a film festival, and an awards ceremony. The winner gets the much-coveted "Value Village Trophy" which just happens to be whatever trophy we can find in Value Village that day. (shout out to AMC Loews Woodinville 12 Theater for donating the popcorn!)

On Sunday we learned about how Paul ties his prayers and encouragement to eternity. Everything he says in Colossians is anchored in Biblical truth! Let's make a point to encourage someone this week with the Gospel. Don't just say kind words, give eternal hope!

Chesterton said, "But we have to love our neighbor because he is there—a much more alarming reason for a much more serious operation. He is the sample of humanity which is actually given to us."
