“Do you want to get better?”

Jesus asked a person who had been disabled for 38 years that question. Rather than an enthusiastic “Yes!” the man responded with all the reasons why he was still unable to walk. Instead of giving the man what he wanted - someone to carry him into a healing pool of water - Jesus gave him what he needed. Jesus healed his body and the man arose to a new life.

“Do you want to get better?”

You may know what you want, but Jesus knows what you need.
Walk into The Table this week for a chicken dinner, friendly conversation, and more stories about how much Jesus loves you. He knows what we want, but even more, He knows what we need. His love makes all the difference.

Do you think of a whale or great fish when you hear the story of Jonah? The true heart of the story is what happened when Jonah delivered God’s message to the Ninevites—his hated enemies. Jonah tried to run away from God but the true miracle happened when he gave God’s message. The people of Nineveh turned from their evil ways, and God forgave them. Jesus' great message was the same: God’s forgiveness is for everyone who turns to Him, even those that are hard to understand or love.

This week at The Table, we will enjoy chili while hearing more stories of jesus. We may not always understand or agree with others, but Jesus calls us to see people through His eyes.There’s a place for everyone at The Table.

Fun Fact, Oct 15th 1951 "I Love Lucy" first appeared on TV! I wonder if roasted chicken was on the menu on that TV show? But it is on the menu at The Table this week. So come one, come all, and be part of "I LOVE THE TABLE"!

Have you ever kept something secret because you feared what others might think? How did it feel when you finally opened up and shared the truth?

This past week, we heard about Joseph of Arimathea, who secretly followed Jesus until his faith overcame his fear and he was moved to bold action. (Read about it in John 19:38–42 bit.ly/4B1AyQs).

Sometimes we hide our faith because we fear what others might think. Like Joseph, we can find the courage to put our faith into action.

This week there is no need to fear a visit to The Table. There is a place set for you.

An Italian Feast! Yes, house-made lasagna for dinner this is a meal you do not want to miss. Invite a friend and tell them you are paying for dinner (it's a free community dinner), but you invited them, so that is about the same.

Fun fact: On this day in 1945, the Microwave oven was patented! No microwave was used in making this meal!

If you’ve never been to The Table, you might wonder who comes to dinner on Thursday night. The answer is simple: all kinds of people. That’s the way Jesus welcomed people, too. Jesus shared meals with people from every walk of life. He didn’t define them by their past, their circumstances, or what they looked like on the outside. He saw their hearts.

That same welcome is at the heart of The Table. As you enjoy a meal of homemade lasagna, your dinner partners may come from a different walk of life than yours. They may share a bit of their story with you, and you may have the opportunity to share a bit of yours.

Because Jesus welcomes us, we welcome one another.
At The Table, you are seen. You are valued. You are welcome.
