MORNING BISCUIT (6/7/26): “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety” (Psalm 18:2, NLT). King David uses the word ‘rock’ twice in verse 2, each with two different meanings and purposes. The first ‘rock’ represents a cliff or ridge used for protection; his fortress (Jehovah Metsudah). The second ‘rock’ represents a solid foundation, stability, and faithfulness (Jehovah Tsuri). Like King David, God is our fortress, through Christ, to run to for protection. He is also our solid foundation, allowing us to move sure-footed like a deer (Psalm 18:33) during challenging seasons in our lives. God is faithful, and in Him we should put our trust. Enjoy worship today!

MORNING BISCUIT (6/6/26): “David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the LORD his God” (1 Samuel 30:6, NLT). David endured betrayed loyalty by King Saul, a conflicted partnership with the Philistine army, and a 600-man rebellion that wanted to stone him to death. People rewarded David’s loyalty and leadership with rejection, mutiny, and death sentences. That is enough to make most people give up or question life. But David sought encouragement from the God he called his ‘shepherd’ (Psalm 23:1), the same God that anointed him king of Israel when his father Jesse would not acknowledge him. Like David, we must remember where our help and anointing come from. We must have hope, even when it seems like the world is against us. If God is for us, who can be against us? Keep moving forward in God.

MORNING BISCUIT (6/5/26): The writer of Hebrews wrote, “It was by faith that Rahab the pr******te was not destroyed with the people in her city who refused to obey God. For she had given a friendly welcome to the spies” (Hebrews 11:31, NLT). Rehab, a pagan Canaanite pr******te, is lauded in the ‘Hall of Faith’ with Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, and Moses. She lied to protect herself and the Israelite spies. However, Rehab would decide to trust and believe in God to save and liberate her and her family from Jericho and tear down the walls that preserved her reputation. She would also go on to share the Promised Land with God’s people (Joshua 6:25). Likewise, our faith and salvation through Christ justify our access to God and His Kingdom and our names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Revelation 13:8). Our past cannot prevent us from choosing Christ and serving a God that can save anybody. Serve Him with your life today.

MORNING BISCUIT (6/4/26): In His parable of the woman and the unjust judge, Jesus said, “Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off” (Luke 18:7, NLT)? Injustice is a part of human nature. Despite racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination, our God remains just, gracious, and merciful. God is omniscient. He hears the cries of His people and fulfills His covenant promises for His namesake. Vengeance belongs to the Righteous Judge, who rights the wrongs committed against His people. The just must continue to live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4). Trouble won’t last always. Be encouraged.

MORNING BISCUIT (6/3/26): According to Matthew 4:11 (NLT), “Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus.” Jesus fasted and prayed in the wilderness for 40 days. Satan does not tempt Jesus during His fast but when “…he was afterward an hungred” (v.3, KJV). Despite His weakness, Jesus does not ignore Satan’s three deceptive attacks but counters them with Scripture’s truth (vs. 4-12). Like Jesus, we are sustained by the Word during worship and weakness. Trust and obey God’s Word during trials and tribulations. His presence, protection, and provision are covenant promises. Do not be weary in well-doing. God will take care of you. His Word says He will. Have a blessed day!
