Traveled to Plymouth United Methodist Church this morning to visit with Salem Global Methodist Group and more. I had the privilege to witness and sit in on morning devotional led by some of the young adults from the group. Great way to start the day before heading to the worksite!

This past weekend, I had the incredible honor of traveling to West Lawn UMC in Reading, Pennsylvania, where I was invited to bring the Word and share the importance of volunteers within Carolina Rebuilding Ministry.

I spoke about how volunteers do far more than swing hammers or repair homes. They walk into dark places carrying hope, compassion, prayer, love, and the light of Christ. They remind hurting families that they have not been forgotten.

My children and I were overwhelmed by the love and warmth shown to us by the church family at West Lawn. Their kindness refreshed my spirit and brought encouragement not only to me personally, but to the entire ministry we serve together.

Before we left, the congregation presented Carolina Rebuilding Ministry with a love offering of $10,000. They gave humbly, not seeking recognition, titles, or applause, but simply out of love and faithfulness to God’s people.

It is important to share this blessing because that generosity will now help provide two families with safer homes to live in. Two homes where floors will be repaired, dangers removed, and hope restored.

This is the Church being the Church.

From the bottom of our heart, thank you to everyone at West Lawn UMC for loving so deeply, serving so faithfully, and reminding us all what the body of Christ looks like when it comes together.

Planning, preparing, and getting ready for the Jesus Marathon!

As you can see from the photo, our staff gathered around the table today as we prepare for another busy season of ministry. Along with our annual "Mass Cleaning," we're organizing projects, coordinating volunteers, and making sure everything is ready for the hundreds of servant-hearted people who will soon be arriving to help families across our communities.

What many people see is the work on the job site. What they don't always see is the prayer, planning, and preparation that happens beforehand.

Please keep our staff, volunteers, and the homeowners we will serve in your prayers. We are excited to see what God has in store as another Jesus Marathon begins.
