We congratulate our former pastoral year seminarian, Thang Pham, on his ordination to the transitional diaconate on May 16! Deacon Thang will preach at the Masses at St. Charles on May 23/24, and he will join us at St. Gabriel on a future weekend. Please keep him in your prayers during this final year of his journey to the priesthood.

We thank the many parishioners from St. Gabriel and St. Charles who attended his ordination and his first preaching Mass at St. Ursula in Parkville in support of Deacon Thang!

Dear parishioners,

I want to share some news with you. After six years at the wonderful parishes of St. Charles Borromeo and three years at St. Gabriel, along with our journey in the pastorate, Archbishop William Lori has asked me to serve as the pastor of St. Joseph's Parish in Fullerton, starting July 1, 2026.

I want to start by thanking God for the gift of serving this community. Serving here has been a great joy, and I am grateful for your solidarity and kindness. As we move into this time of transition, let us remember that the Eucharist is the source and summit of our lives, and that joy remains regardless of who celebrates.

While I am looking forward to this new chapter, it is bittersweet to leave. I want to express my deepest gratitude for your kindness, patience, and love over these past years. You have taught me how to be a better pastor. I'm truly proud of what we've created together—it's more than just programs; it's a vibrant faith community filled with amazing people I've had the privilege of getting to know and walking alongside. Remember, this parish isn't about me alone; it's firmly rooted in the foundation of Jesus Christ, giving us strength and purpose.

Our associate pastor, Fr. Miguel Trinidad, will also be moving on to a new assignment.

The new priests coming into the pastorate will be from the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (CICM), a religious order of priests. I ask that you welcome your new priests with the same open hearts and love you showed me. I want to assure you that my focus during these last few weeks is on a smooth transition.

I will hold you all in my prayers, and I ask that you pray for me in my new assignment. Thank you, and God bless you.

- Fr. Canisius Tah
