Be on the lookout for a new expression of reality via a new initiative to connect with our children. In connection with A Clear Path to a New Beginning Productions, I will have the esteemed honor of hosting a podcast called, The Gen NOW POW-WOW Podcast which will be hosted on the Spreaker app on your phones. This is an opportunity to converse with Gen Y and Z on topics such as Religion, Relationships, and Reality. Dates are forthcoming. Please download the Spreaker app today as we debunk the myth that these generations are non-essential.

Thanks for reading and I can't wait for you to join us for a much needed POW-WOW!!

Greetings EMZ Fellowship,

As we are on the cusp of yet another Lenten Season, I want to remind us all of the Meaning of “Fat Tuesday” and how that intertwines with Lent. Shrove Tuesday marks the last day before the Lenten season—a period of forty days whereby Christians traditionally fast or give up certain foods to ensure their purity and righteousness. The forty days represent the time that Jesus spent fasting in the desert where he resisted the temptation of Satan.

Today, we are celebrating Fat Tuesday and deciding what we are going to give up to ascertain our purity and righteousness. I would like to remind us that through the power of Jesus Christ, we are also to pick something up….Remember that sermon two weeks ago about “Kenosis which is self-emptying”. As we give up something, take on one thing that will bring glory to the Lord. So, as we prepare for tomorrow’s Lenten service, please remember to celebrate this day with your family and friends. Go out to IHOP, Bob Evans, or Denny’s and have a pancake dinner or fellowship at one another’s homes. Whatever you do, do it in the strength of the Lord so that when tomorrow comes, we are able to “self-empty” and meditate on the Lord and the sacrifice of Christ so he can be more clear and evident in your lives.

Blessing to you all and hope to see you tomorrow night at 7pm.

Because He Lives,

Rev. Isaiah Redd, Sr.

Today marks the beginning of my 5th year of Servant Leadership at Emmarts UMC, my 3rd year of Servant Leadership at Mount Zion UMC, and 9th year of Pastoral Leadership. Whew--that went by fast. I thank God for it all, the highs and lows, the good, the bad, and the ugly. As God continues to refine me, I remain grateful for our shared ministry and the envisioning of what is coming because the best is yet to come.
