“When Fear Silences The Truth!”
By Pastor Kendall
There is an alarming trend happening! You could call it a suppression of the truth. In the past 10-15 years in America and around the world, believers everywhere have been silenced. t’s almost as if the entire Christian Church has lost its voice. The world has now made up its mind, and doesn’t want to hear another word. Christians got the message. We felt the rage! And just like that, at the snap of a finger, we “clammed up.“ Like storm clouds rolling in from the west, the church saw trouble brewing in the land and wasn’t willing to risk it. But even though it felt like “everyone“ opposed Jesus, turns out that really wasn’t true. Isn’t it odd how truth often waits quietly and patiently for its turn. Apparently, the only hard resistance was coming from the same obnoxious
3-4% of America, holding the leash, and walking the rest of America exactly where they wanted us to go. And the sad part is, we just kept letting them. Now don’t get me wrong. If you have a child with mental illness, you will need patience, wisdom, love, and a lot of prayer. But letting the mentally ill child “drive the bus“ or make the rules, somehow doesn’t feel like the right answer! Requiring the whole family to submit to the imbalance of a few is not the answer either! So what is? Well, we could first of all, stop calling the world’s view normal. Stop mainstreaming them, lying to them, and telling them they’re just like the rest of us. No, they’re not. The Bible is clear, you end up right here – where we are now America – when you aren’t willing to speak the truth! And in my opinion, accountability has to at least begin with the Christian Church! Now listen to this, “One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: Do not be afraid. Keep on speaking the truth. Do not be silent, for I am with you…”Acts 18:9-10. We’re living in a critical time in human history. The world has told the Christian church to shut up! And for the most part we’re doing just that! But God is saying something radically different! “Don’t be afraid. Don’t worry about what man can do to you. Don’t fear rejection. Or violence. Or being canceled. Don’t be intimidated in anyway. Keep your eyes fastened on Jesus Christ. Keep your ears in tune with the voice of God‘s Holy Spirit. Speak in love. But more than anything else, keep speaking!” We’re being told silence is our best option. But that is not true! Obedience is always our best option! I implore you to be present for this message on Sunday morning at GraceChurch 628 Gray Road, Windham, ME @ 10:30AM. Live-streamed around the world on FB. Someone once said “Speaking the truth is the greatest thing a Christian can do.” And if that is true, then that must mean, the second greatest thing a believer can do is to defend the right to speak the truth! Amen. See you there. Pastor Kendall
