“Even More, As You See the Day Coming”
By Pastor Kendall Libby
Good afternoon GC family and friends. Since you accepted Jesus and became a believer, how has your life changed? The answer shouldn’t be that difficult. And it’s definitely not a trick question! I remember a time in the church when people really got saved. And when they got saved, you knew they were saved! They didn’t have to say a word. Yes, there were sometimes sins involving the demonic that were stubborn and fought back hard. Sins like drug addiction, drunkenness, and sexual habits were met with powerful prayer and fasting from the church family. Others had their hands full with gossip, anger, judging others, pride, and unforgiveness. These were often called inner “secret sins.” Though, in due time, they weren’t all that secret! If believers didn’t fully “put away” and crucify these sins of the flesh, they would displease God and not be allowed to ever enter the kingdom of heaven. Not to mention, far more churches have closed and far more revivals have been derailed, by these sins of the flesh than any opposition of Satan ever has! In those days people didn’t just run to a self-help conference or line up some marriage therapy to “learn to live with” their sin. They actually got free! Which happens to be the plan of God! Now I’m not saying we will never go through a season in life when we will need help navigating. But when we do, it’s critical that God and God’s Word are in the plan. Our attitude should be “God, I’ll do anything I have to do. I’ll do anything you ask me to do! I must overcome and ‘put away’ the flesh!” Amen! On Sunday morning, September 6, I’m going to directly confront and rebuke two of the biggest lies being peddled on the internet in recent weeks. Believers are at risk. The flock is being scattered. And it’s all being done by people who should know better. Join me at GraceChurch, 628 Gray Road, Windham ME @ 10:30AM. Joy Wendel will open Grace Cafe at 9:45 with Guest Chef John Berryman making breakfast sandwiches to order tomorrow only! Joy will have a variety of other breakfast goodies as well. And of course at Grace Cafe, there is never a charge! I love you all. I’ll see you there!
