There is a lot of clash in our culture - few are listening, many are clashing. Where do quarrels come from and what should we do to heal them? It all comes down to how we relate to God. James shares two decades of pastoral care and wisdom that flow out of Jesus teachings, and we are wise to listen to him.

How do you tell if your faith is living and active or on life-support? James does not blush to differentiate between dead, lifeless faith and living, breathing faith. He even provides two helpful examples for each. Testing our hearts is not always comfortable, but it serves and strengthens our faith.

We've been considering suffering - pain changes us! When things go well we can maintain a godly persona pretty easily, but when we walk with Job we can easily fall into three dangers. We will examine these threats tomorrow along with the treatment that can heal and protect.
