The Sacred Grove and Spiritual Life invite the university community to celebrate Beltane: The Bright Fire on Sunday, April 19, from 6:30- 9 p.m. at The Village fire pit. This seasonal celebration invites the campus community to enjoy a cozy spring evening with s’mores by the fire, wildflower crown crafting, and music. Participants can also take part in the traditional dancing around a mini maypole to mark the changing of the seasons. It is a unique opportunity to connect with nature and fellow students in a relaxed, outdoor setting. This event is hosted by The Sacred Grove and the Office of Spiritual Life. For more information, please contact Clint Keller at [email protected] or Ashley Simmons at [email protected].

Meet Dr. Aaron Blight, one of our Affiliate Ministry Partners!

Dr. Aaron Blight is an Assistant Professor of Public Health here at SU and a nationally-recognized expert on caregiving. When he is not teaching, Dr. Blight serves as a minister and the Stake President of the Wi******er Virginia Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

As an undergraduate student long ago, Dr. Blight suspended his studies to serve a two-year mission in southern Argentina. The experience motivated him to live the rest of his life as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Blight is also a husband, father, and Pop Pop. He likes ice cream. In order to eat ice cream, he likes to exercise. He also would not mind suggestions for his Spotify playlist.
