Members of the Reform Jewish Beth El Congregation in Wi******er will be on campus for Tashlich rituals on Saturday, September 12, at 2:30 p.m., at Abram’s Creek (between Sarah's Glen and the Red Bridge at University Drive). This prayer service, traditionally observed by casting small pieces of bread--today's offering may include stones, leaves, or pebbles--into a moving body of water, serves to represent the casting off of sin from the previous year in the time between Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (the Jewish Day of Atonement). SOAR is teaming up with Spiritual life to visit a Theravada Buddhist Forest Monastery on Saturday, September 12. We will join the monks for lunch and a short contemplation.
