Some days I have to ask the Holy Spirit to help me turn off all the noise in my head and quiet every fear running through my mind. The storm comes in stages — first the wind, then the rain, then the hail, then the thunder shaking the very windows of your house. But here is what I have learned: the clouds only hold so much water. The wind only lasts so long. James 1 says let patience have her perfect work — and when she is finished, you will be mature, complete, and lacking nothing. The storm is not destroying you. It is developing you. Hold fast.

They laid me on the ground in a coal mine and left me to die in peace. Broken ribs. Torn ligaments. Punctured lungs. No pulse — or so they thought. But I could hear every word they said over me. It took six hours to get me out of that mine, and I was life-flighted from Wheatcroft, Kentucky all the way to Evansville, Indiana. When I arrived, the doctors examined me and said there was nothing wrong with me. I was completely healed in route. Friend, when God has His hand on your life, the enemy does not get the final word.
