God Fights For Us

“for the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭20‬:‭4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This verse is a great promise. It assures us of God's active involvement in our struggles. We never face our battles alone. God is undefeated and He fights alongside us. God's presence guarantees our ultimate victory.

The Battle is God's

“and he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not your's, but God's.”
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭20‬:‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This verse is a great reminder to God's people. It releases us from the pressure of trying to secure victory through our own efforts. Our role is to trust and obey. The actual winning of the battle belongs to God. We can face challenges with confidence. God is fighting for us!

Oh, what an affirmation! As Christians, our victory goes beyond mere survival or success. We don't just barely make it through our struggles or challenges; we come out of them strengthened and transformed. Our trials become opportunities to show and develop Christ's victory in our lives.

I love John's profound truth about our spiritual victory. Our victory is not dependent on our circumstances but on our connection to God through faith. Our faith in Christ anchors us in His victory.

Victory Through Jesus

“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Our victory in Jesus is secured by His resurrection. As Christians, we have an assured outcome of our spiritual journey. The victory is not achieved through our own strength but received as a gift because of what Jesus did on that cross. We get to stand in the victory that Jesus has already won.

Holy, Holy, Holy

“And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.” Isaiah‬ ‭6‬:‭3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Isaiah's vision of the seraphim declaring "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty" shows us that holiness is God's essential character. Saying it three times emphasizes the completeness of God's holiness. This is our model and motivation for holy living. Let God's holiness shine through your life this week. May it set you apart for His special purposes.

We are Called to Holiness

We are called to live a holy life. Holiness is at the center of our Christian calling. It is not about earning God's favor but about living consistently with who He has made us to be. Our holiness should resemble our holy Father.

Holiness ultimately comes from God. We are set apart but only because of God choosing us. Our holiness starts with God's work in our lives.

Holiness

Holiness is both God's perfect character and His call for His people to be set apart for His purposes. Holiness involves a progressive transformation into Christ's likeness. These verses are a call to a quality of life that reflects our relationship with a holy God. We are called to reflect God's holiness in our daily living.

Kinsman-Redeemer

“And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it. Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbour: and this was a testimony in Israel.” Ruth‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The story of Ruth and Boaz introduces us to the concept of the kinsman-redeemer. The story provides a beautiful picture of how redemption works. Boaz became Naomi and Ruth's kinsman-redeemer. Christ became ours through His incarnation. He redeemed us and He had the sinless perfection needed to pay our price.
