Joy is not happiness! It’s better than happiness. Happiness is based on happenings and circumstances. Joy is not based on happenings but is a gift from God and it is given to believers who obey the word and it is produced by the Holy Spirit. Joy is mingled with tragedy and trials and disappointments. It is deeply rooted in your soul and creates a peace that passes all understanding. Paul was in prison and waiting on a sentence of even death at times but he maintained his joy because it is not based on the nasty now and now but it is based on Jesus Christ and our hope in Him. Weeping may endure through the night but joy comes in the morning. Lord restore unto us the joy of our Salvation. When I was a little kid many time we sang a song about having the joy, joy, joy down in our hearts. A lot of people today attend church and they look like they have been weaned on a dill pickle. Paul said in the book of Philippians don’t worry about me because to live is Christ but to die is gain. Nothing can take away my joy. I’m caught in between wanting to go be with the Lord or stay here with you but it is necessary right now for me to stay and encourage you rather than go be with the Lord. Circumstances did not determine his joy. He had joy when he remembered the congregation at Philippi and how they were great partners in the gospel. He remembered their conversions and their gifts or offerings they sent and basically how they just loved him. He told them not to get down and feel sorry for Him because God was in control and he was using his present situation for the good of the ministry. May each of you dip into the wells of your salvation and drink of the joy once again that you should have since you are a Christian.

The finale that will never end!!!
One day a trumpet will sound and the clouds will roll back like a scroll and King Jesus will appear and every eye will see him. Guess what? When that day comes it will last forever for those who are saved by His matchless Grace! Last night I awaited the finale, the best part of a firework display!! There was no announcement, this is the finale, you could just sense it was nearing. Then without warning, things begin to move in a faster pace and lightning like colors begin to flash and pop to the North and the South and East and West!! Lots of gazing going on and lots of Proclamations from one end of the parking lot to the other. At the end an applause and it was over for another 365 days. Planning and preparation will begin again for the next show in hope of good weather and plenty of money. Chairs folded and car doors begin to open and shut and a line formed for the exit from the gathering place. Videos and testimonials of the event is all that is left for this year’s show. Let’s not forget our rebirth, our dependence day when we surrendered from our independence and depended on the Lord to bring a salvation that will one day allow us to take part in the final finale. I can still hear those deep thumps that went off in my heart that day. And, oh the light In Which my Lord brought to me that day. I have been advertising about this grand finale for some time now and He says the Word won’t go out and come back void but it will do what it was intended to do! I just hope my friends that gathered around the parking lot will be gathered around the throne one day where king and priest and prophet Jesus after 1000 year honey moon introduces the New Heaven and the New Earth! Fireworks in the Day now that will be a finale!!

Tone it down a little!!! Throw a blanket on it!! Surely, we don’t have to eat of his flesh and drink of his blood!! I mean smelling the bread suffices me. Squeezing the bread is good enough!! Gazing at the bread is more than sufficient! Tasting the bread ranks right up there with eating it! Jesus said I am the Bread of life and He said you must eat my Body and Drink my blood!! He sounds serious to me!! This must not be physical bread but spiritual bread?? Sounds like He is saying we got to be all in?? I am the Bread that came down from heaven, He said. Definitely a special supernatural kind of Bread. Not the same Manna found in the Old Testament! They got hungry again after they ate of it. Jesus says you’ll never hunger or thirst again but you got to believe in the incarnation, in the Bethlehem, in the Golgotha, and in the resurrection and the ascension correct? Well, you got to believe He came from above and He died for your sins even though your sins hung Him on the cross!! You have to identify with Him! You got to be crucified with Christ! Place your hands on the scape goat and identify with Christ and take up your cross and follow Him. Eat!! Not taste! Oh yes, taste and see that the Lord is good but then eat!! Nothing left on the plate! Ain’t you hungry? Could be you full of the worldly food. Full as a tick! Don’t have any room for the Gospel Dessert! You might try Fasting from the dinner carts of religion, and entertainment for a while. Processed food ain’t good for you!! The main course is Jesus and Jesus only, nothing added or taken from the gospel. Eat and drink Him! Better than the Leeks and Onions of Egypt! He that cometh to Him must believe that He is!! No man can come though unless the Father Draws him! You won’t come on your own!! Wow God starts it and He finishes it!! You finally say Yes and thank you!!

Noah let a raven go and the raven never came back to the ark? Why? The ole raven likes the world and will light on all the floating bloated carcasses and all the slimy trees floating in the water and will wallow in the mud holes of the mountain tops. Like a pig returning to the mire and the dog returning to its vomit. On the other hand a dove doesn’t have that character although both are birds. When Noah let the dove go I believe there was some expectations that she would return. She has the wings to fly just like the raven and she has the sight to see land if any exist and she has the strength. She too is ready to soar and get out of the boat. However, the makeup of the dove is different. The carrion of the world does not satisfy her and after awhile she grows weary of the flight and weary of the search. Dead carrion doesn’t fit her appetite and the eyes grow weary of the search for a place to fit. She is a dove not a raven!! A Christian just doesn’t fit in the world! The walk changes and the talk changes and the beat of the music changes and the desire changes and the places one wants to go changes and the dress changes and the friends change and the dedications changes and the want to and will changes. It’s not what you give up but it’s what you gain. The guilty conscience changes and the Bible has new meanings and the truth is the truth and not a maybe. God is right and man’s philosophy is wrong. Repentance Is a common word and reverence is demanded. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul. The dove was tired and returned to the safe haven of rest. He learned not to take the ark for granted. Every need is supplied in the ark. Noah reaches out and just before the dove falls to the waters below Noah receives the dove into the ark. Come into the ark for the skies grow dark!! There is a storm called God’s great judgment day. The day of opportunity is still available, the door is still open. The waves grow angry but the lighthouse is still on the hillside. The carnal man yearns for the fleshly desires but the spiritual man is driven by the wind!! Wake up the Master! Cry out to Him while the times of the Gentiles still exist. Rest in Jesus and mark your course for a city called Homeland. You are a foreigner in this world and you will suffer persecution. You are a pilgrim a sojourner, a stranger in this cursed world. Be of good cheer though He has overcome the world and you too can be an overcomer for when you are without strength and when sin becomes exceedingly sinful and when you die to yourself He is always there to pick up the pieces!! I’m glad He doesn’t throw away the clay. Paradise will be regained. He knows how many times you have to go around the wheel before you can become a vessel of honor. Meekness is not weakness but a proud heart God doesn’t like!!

Abram was given a promise that his seed would occupy a land and that they would be servants in that land for 400 years. Years pass, Isaac is born, Isaac marries and has two sons. Jacob marries and has sons and one of his sons by the name of Joseph ends up in jail down in Egypt. To make a long story short Jacob and the boys and their families end up in Egypt too! There were in the beginning 70 souls in Egypt. They multiply and before you know it there are more Israelites than Egyptians. They are occupying Goshen and everyone is happy as a lark. However, along comes a pharaoh who doesn’t remember Joseph or Jacob or the great famine of the land. Delightful turns into discontent and dissatisfaction. Delightful turns into bitterness and burdens and rigorous task. The beginnings of slavery and servitude and hardships are introduced to a once laid back life down in Egypt. Israel is no longer welcomed in the land. Their desires to leave the world of Egypt become stronger year by year. Cries begin to be uttered and God hears their cries and along comes a deliverer making good on the promises of God that were written hundreds of years before their time! A deliverer has but one job and that is deliverance. Soon they will be crossing the Red Sea with plenty of wealth and a wilderness to wander around in for several months which leads to 40 years. Isn’t it just like our salvation. We were once sinners living in the world. We thought we knew what was going on in our lives and we delighted in the world but then The Lord begin to draw us and discontentment and dissatisfaction arose. Our desires begin to change and all of a sudden Goshen was not so important. We didn’t like what we become. There is something missing in our lives. We are not complete. There is an unknown void. Emptiness is abundant and there is no peace. All of a sudden we are drawn to the word, to a church and the word becomes alive and conviction stirs our hearts and we cry out for mercy. Bitterness gives way to sweetness when the deliverer comes and He did come. Out of nowhere he comes with only one thing on his mind and that is to finish the work in us!! Deliverance from the deliverer brings the delight of the New Life with new desires!! If you are truly born from above you can relate to this testimony of deliverance. You are a soldier of Canaan land. Occupy your bunker, no time to wander around when you should be wondering about the wonder of it all!!

A Son of Perdition- the one He lost; the “son of perdition” (KJV); the one “doomed to destruction” Judas chose the path to ruin when he determined to betray Jesus. As Warren Wiersbe commented, even though “it was prophesied that one of Messiah’s close associates would betray Him Psalms 41 and Psalms 55 .This fact does not relieve Judas of responsibility. We must not make him a martyr because he fulfilled this prophecy.” Wiersbe was explaining Matthew 26:8 where Judas criticized Mary for wasting expensive oil to worship Jesus: apōleia is translated here as “waste.” This double-meaning helps us understand the tragedy of Judas. Judas was a type of the Son of Perdition. He is like the Antichrist that will come. Although, he was born of a woman in a little town like any other man he was used like any man to bring glory to God. He did not believe. He had the responsibility to respond to the gospel but he did not respond. God uses all people and all people will one day bow a knee to him. The scriptures say, Satan entered into Judas and Jesus said go do what you have to do! Worldly sorrow,a sorrow after a different kind entered into the heart of Judas after his betrayal. He committed su***de. Peter wept bitterly but he became a fishermen of men. Peter loved the Lord with his heart and Judas loved him for what he might receive from Him. Whether it be a place on the throne if his kingdom or 30 pieces of silver!

Wicked but yet He loves us! Judas was a traitor he sold out or betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, the price of a slave. He betrayed Jesus with a compassionate kiss. A keeper of the purse, the treasurer of the followers of Jesus. When they prayed he prayed. When they ate he ate. When they performed miracles he did too. One of you will betray me tonight, he said. They said is it I? Jesus said it had been better for him had he never been born. You betray me with a kiss Judas? Yet he kept on kissing Him. Jesus said what you have to do make sure you do it quickly. Judas said is it I? Jesus said, thou sayest! Judas said this ointment could have been sold and given to the poor. Jesus said leave this woman alone what she has done will be remembered forever! Judas sought from that time on an opportunity to betray Him. Judas tried to give the money back and then went and hanged himself. Peter also betrayed Him but when his eyes met the masters eyes he went and wept bitterly. The point? I’m sorry I got caught vs. true repentance with the heart. Judas was a good faker, pretender, counterfeiter, external worshipper(you betray me with a kiss) Peter really loved Him! Lord you know I love you! Jesus said feed my sheep. Go do what you were called to do! Peter preached a sermon on the day of Pentecost in which 3000 were saved!! Judas’ guts spilled out on a piece of land that betrayed innocent blood! The point? Fake religion or false worship can be detected by Jesus! He knows your heart! If you love me keep my words! Love one another! Take up your cross and follow me! Continue! No turning back! He drank the cup for you!! Tell the old story and tell it a fresh and new!

No church tonight the flash flood has hit pretty hard down here. It’s come a good one and more on way. Lots of water. If it ain’t one thing it’s another!! I hate it but don’t think it is safe for my family.
