Monday, October 26, 7:40am EST. Full moon Eight Precepts vow. Online and in person. Ven. Khenpo Choephel will be offering the Eight Precepts vow for the full moon fasting day Participants. The day should be focused on practice, purification, and other Dharma activites such as studying texts. Khenpo will remind us of all the vow requirements during the ceremony. Join us on Zoom.

Beginning tomorrow, (October 18th) and the following Sundays at 10am, Ven. Khenpo Choephel will be starting a weekly teaching series on Gampopa’s Jewel Ornament of Liberation. The recommended text is written by our Khenchen Konchog Gyaltsen Rinpoche, and is available at Namse Bangdzo books. If the cost is prohibitive, you can find the base text here:

The Jewel Ornament of Liberation is a masterwork of Tibetan Buddhism. This is so important that ultimate permanent inner peace is coming from meditation. Meditation is not just sit and block emotions. Meditation is seeing something non- material emptiness yet something special insight clear natural state of mind ( awakening mind ).
This realization is coming from a unbroken lineage guru’s blessing and of course unmistakable knowledge.
It is so fortunate that Rinpoche is a excellent Master of scholar and meditator.

With Ven. Khenpo Chophel returning to our center, we are making some updates to the schedule for this week and those moving forward. Wednesday evening remains yidam practice at 7pm. This week is Green Tara. 10am Saturday morning Khenpo is teaching a Beginners Buddhism class (previously held on Tuesday), and 10am Sunday this week he will continue going over the new TRTCC Essential Prayer Book.

A group of University of Pittsburgh students came to our center yesterday and our spiritual director Khenpo Choephel offered them a brief introduction to Buddhism and a warm welcome. Our resident teacher Lama Kalsang took these photos.
