William Lewis Rawlings I was born April 1,1897 in Lynchburg, VA to James McGee and Matilda Eubanks Rawlings. He began his ministry as a Methodist, was a graduated from Gammon Theological Seminary in Altanta, GA, and was converted to the Apostolic way and pastored churches in Lynchburg; Casper, WY and Weirto

n, WV before founding Christ Temple Church of Pittsburgh, PA in 1934. Christ Temple began on Hamilton Avenue; later moved to Enterprise Street and then to Paulson Avenue before moving back to 258 Columbia Avenue in Penn Hills. Services were held on the first floor of a house and he and his family lived on the second floor. In the 1950s a new church building was built next door, which is now occupied by Jesus Is The Answer Ministries.
