Please join in even if you have not been able to read the entire book! To further prepare, below are some online articles that may be helpful.

For the past two years, the church has employed Carmen Rojas as a nursery worker on Sundays and for Terrific Tuesdays. Recently she became a full-time employee at Weekday Ministries. If you have met Carmen, you know that she loves the children she cares for and always goes out of her way to say a kind word to others! But did you know that Carmen was a journalist in her home country of Venezuela? She came to the United States at an age when others are retiring in order to escape persecution. Follow the link to read more about Carmen’s story, and don’t forget to stop in the nursery on Sunday to say hello!

Remember our book discussion is coming up on October 26 at 7PM. Contact Kim Rhoton for the zoom link. Everyone Who Is Gone Is Here is a deep dive into the violent conflicts of Central American countries, the personal stories of some of those affected, and how US immigration laws and foreign policy have impacted them. Please plan to participate even if you haven’t been able to read the entire book!
