September is the Month of the Seven Sorrows of Mary.

The Second Sorrow is The Flight into Egypt.

Let us pray.
I grieve for thee, O Mary most sorrowful, in the anguish of thy most affectionate heart during the flight into Egypt and thy sojourn there. Dear Mother, by thy heart so troubled, obtain for me the virtue of generosity, especially toward the poor, and the gift of piety.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us!

“Mother Teresa, in all aspects of her life, was a generous dispenser of divine mercy, making herself available for everyone through her welcome and defense of human life, those unborn and those abandoned and discarded. ” (Pope Francis, Canonization Homily).

Small in stature but a giant witness to faith, hope, and love, we turn to St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta on this, her feast day, asking her to intercede for us

What exactly is a novena?

The word novena comes from the Latin word for “nine.” A novena is a period of prayer traditionally offered over nine days or nine occasions for a particular intention or in preparation for a feast.

The tradition recalls the nine days that Mary and the Apostles spent together in prayer between the Ascension of Jesus and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

Our upcoming Infant Jesus Novena gives us nine Monday evenings to persevere in prayer and place our needs into the hands of Christ.

“Could you not watch one hour with me?” - Matthew 26:40

This Friday, come spend some quiet time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

Eucharistic Adoration begins following the 12:05 p.m. Mass and continues throughout the afternoon. Whether you can stay for an hour, thirty minutes, or simply stop in for a few moments, give yourself the gift of stepping away from the busyness of the week and resting in the presence of the Lord.

At 4:00 p.m., we will conclude our afternoon of Adoration with a Holy Hour of Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, followed by Benediction.

Jesus is waiting for you. Come and spend some time with Him.

Pope St. Gregory the Great, for whom Gregorian chant was named and whose influence on Church history is hard to measure, is depicted in the northern transept mural of the Cathedral between St. Agatha and St. Peter. Gregory was responsible for promoting monasticism, commissioning evangelists to Britain, and writing many theological and catechetical works. He is the patron of musicians, singers, students, and teachers.

St. Gregory the Great, pray for us!

September is the Month of the Seven Sorrows of Mary.

The First Sorrow is the Prophecy of Simeon.

Let us pray.
I grieve for thee, O Mary most sorrowful, in the affliction of thy tender heart at the prophecy of the holy and aged Simeon. Dear Mother, by thy heart so afflicted, obtain for me the virtue of humility and the gift of the holy fear of God.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
