The month of June is dedicated to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is only in that Heart that we will find happiness. It is only in that Heart we will find our rest. It is in that Heart that we understand what it means to be human and to be made in the image of our God. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!

Today we celebrate the great gift of the Holy Eucharist, the true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. In every Mass, the Lord gives Himself completely to us, nourishing us with His very life and drawing us into communion with Him and one another.

The Eucharist is not merely a symbol of Christ's love; it is Christ Himself. May our hearts be filled with gratitude for this priceless gift and renewed in our devotion to the Blessed Sacrament.

The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life.

Everything we do as Catholics flows from the altar and leads us back to it.

Tomorrow (Corpus Christi Sunday), we invite you to join us as we celebrate the heart of our faith. Following the 10:30 a.m. Mass, we will accompany Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of Wheeling in our annual Corpus Christi Procession.

Let us gather as a family of faith to give public witness and to thank God for the gift of the Holy Eucharist.

All are welcome. A free catered meal will follow at St. Alphonsus Church.

Why do Catholics process with the Blessed Sacrament?

Because we believe that Jesus is truly present in the Holy Eucharist and we want the world to know!

On the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, Catholics around the world take their faith beyond the walls of the church and into the streets, proclaiming with joy that Christ is among us.

Join us on Sunday, June 7, beginning with the 10:30 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. The procession to St. Alphonsus Church will follow immediately after Mass, and a free catered meal will conclude the celebration.

Come and be part of this joyful witness to the Eucharistic Lord.
