Join us this Saturday at a Scan and Share event to preserve and share your history!

Bring your photos, letters, recipes, and other historical materials that represent your past, your family, and your community in Utah. Staff and volunteers will engage with you to learn about your items, create digital copies of these items, and return the originals to you. These digital copies will become part of the Peoples of Utah Revisited online collection, accessible to all, at the Utah Division of State History.

The Cambodian community of Utah has been growing over the past few decades. This growth provides us with an opportunity to host large festivals and events at the Utah Cambodian Community Buddhist Temple (UCCBT); a space where Cambodians (and their friends) can gather to practice Buddhism and celebrate diversity in our home state of Utah. We are working on constructing a beautiful pavilion where groups can gather for religious ceremonies, weddings, birthdays, and a stage for performances of classical dance. Construction of the pavilion is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023.

You can help us create this space for more community involvement—not just for the local Cambodian Buddhist community, but also with our neighbors of various religious faiths and ethnic backgrounds. We are asking for donations to help us construct this spacious 30 ft. by 40 ft. pavilion that will be erected in front of the temple’s Sala Chan, the temple’s main complex.
