We want to share a heartfelt and encouraging update regarding Brother Naveed, who is currently recovering, with Insha'Allah his daughter soon moving from the ICU to a normal ward. Words cannot express how deeply moved ISGSL is by the incredible way our community has rallied together to support this family's needs during their harrowing stay at the Salt Lake hospitals amidst such an unimaginable tragedy. We have been in constant communication with their medical providers and family members and have successfully helped them navigate the painful process of arranging the janaza for his wife and two other children, which will take place in Fremont, California. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of a tragic car accident near the Utah border that has claimed lives.

Dr. Abdul Naveed Shaik and his family from Fremont, California were involved in a fatal car accident in Elko County on their return from Yellowstone National Park. We mourn the loss of his wife, Sr. Nazia, and their two children, 17-year-old Hafiza Nihaa and 13-year-old Hafiz Omar. May Allah grant them Jannatul Firdaus and grant enormous patience to their family.

Br. Naveed is currently receiving care in the ICU at University of Utah Hospital, and his surviving daughter is being treated at Primary Children's Hospital. ISGSL is actively coordinating with their family members and hospital administration to provide support during this time.

We urgently request your duas for:

* The complete recovery of Br. Naveed and his daughter
* Sabr and strength for the entire family
* All those affected by this tragedy

Assalamu Alaikum!

We want to inform you of a serious incident that occurred yesterday afternoon at Valley Fair Mall in West Valley City. Br. Sohail, a Muslim man working at a kiosk, was approached and repeatedly stabbed around 2:30 PM on Monday. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Alhumdulilah, he is recovering and we ask the entire community to keep him and his family in your duaas for a full and swift recovery.

According to police, the attacker was arrested at the scene and has stated that he targeted Br. Sohail for being Muslim. He is being held on charges of attempted murder and remains in custody.

Remain vigilant and aware of your surroundings when coming to and from the masjid and in public spaces
Report any suspicious activity immediately by calling 911
Avoid speculation and rumors, and allow the investigation to proceed
Make dua for Br. Sohail and his family, and for the protection of Muslims everywhere

Assalamualaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Alhamdulillah, yesterday we held our Muslim Scouts Court of Honor at Khadeeja masjid, where we recognized several of our young scouts for earning their Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks. We congratulate all of them on their hard work, dedication, and achievements. May Allah SWT bless them and grant them continued success.

Our Muslim Scouts Program has been serving the community for many years, helping young boys develop leadership, responsibility, teamwork, outdoor skills, confidence, and strong Islamic character in a safe and positive environment.

We encourage parents to consider enrolling their children in this wonderful program. It is a great opportunity for our youth to grow, build lifelong friendships, and become future leaders of our community, inshaAllah.
