As we wrapped up our special Vesak celebrations venerating our great teacher, Shakyamuni Buddha, we are delighted to rejoice in everyone's wonderful efforts! Together, we helped make May a truly auspicious time to honor the Buddha's Birth, Enlightenment, and Parinibbana. 🙏✨

This year marked a special milestone: for the very first time in West Orange, beautiful Vesak lanterns were made! 🏮

Traditionally crafted across Buddhist cultures, these lanterns symbolize the light of wisdom dispelling the darkness of ignorance. They represent the triumph of enlightenment over worldly attachments, serving as a powerful reminder for all of us to cultivate kindness and compassion. 🌸🩵

Thank you to everyone who brought their energy (viriya) and faith (shaddā), appreciating the Dhamma with much creativity!

Sadhu anumodana to all the kind, generous people who have helped make these changes happen! If it were not for each individual - if they came to help with physical labor, or if they donated within their means - this progress would not have happened without all of their help. A special thank you to our volunteer Tim, who put these beautiful update graphics together for everyone.

We encourage everyone to come visit the monastery to see and feel the beautiful changes that have already happened and are currently in progress.

May you all have easy access to all your requisites, have clean, safe air, be surrounded by supportive friends, family and conditions, and soon realize the threefold bliss!

For anyone who may be interested in helping with future projects, or daily monastery maintenance, we have community service opportunities Saturday 7:00am - 9:00am and Sunday 8:00am - 11:00am.

Join us in celebrating Vesak this upcoming Sunday (5/31)! At 1 PM, we’ll gather for an afternoon of circumambulation, chanting, and Dhamma talk 🧡

A day of remembrance of the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and Parinibbana, this is a beautiful time for our multifold Sangha to come together and give thanks for his precious time here on our planet earth 🥰 Please feel free to bring your families, friends—candles, flowers, and incense too are all welcome!

It is looking to be a lovely Sunday indeed, and we sincerely hope to see you there 😇🪷
