Reciting the 2nd decade of the Mystery of Light today, I paused to ponder the exchange between Mother Mary and Jesus. The depth of love in the unspoken language between the two of them was palpable. Mary reported to Jesus that the wine had ran out. Jesus said his time hadn’t come.
I imagined the gentle smile on Mary’s face, saying I know you. She was a mother who believed in her son’s ability to change the course of an event. She knew his love and compassion for people. She had no doubt that he’d supply the needed wine. With confidence she told the servants to do whatever he says. Jesus did not let his mother down; he did not betray the trust that she had in him; he turned water into the best wine ever. Awesome!
Whether your run-down cup is health issues, finance, employment, spiritual emptiness or estranged relationship with loved ones, through the intervention of Mother Mary may your cup be filled abundantly. Amen.
