Philippians 2:6-11
New Living Translation
6 Though he was God,[a]
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.
7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges[b];
he took the humble position of a slave[c]
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,[d]
8 he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

When you pray and end your prayer “in Jesus’ name,” do you ever think about how powerful that is. You are declaring that Jesus is Lord, and you acknowledge him to the place of highest honor. I believe when we pray in Jesus’ name all Heaven hears it, and the Creator receives it. The next time you pray and you end with, “in Jesus’ name,” say it slowly and breathe in the power that His name resounds. Have a safe and blessed day.

2 Timothy 2:15
New Revised Standard Version
15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved by him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth.

Let us pretend that Jesus comes to your house just before you go to bed for the night to evaluate your day. Will you be ashamed, or will you be approved? Did you read his word? Did you communicate in a loving manner? Did you spend time in prayer? Did you help someone? I believe it is a good idea to evaluate your day every day, because you do not know when the Lord will return, and I believe we are seeing signs of his return. It is time to get very serious about your relationship with Christ and evaluate that relationship one day at a time. Have a safe and blessed day.

Romans 5:5
New King James Version
5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

When God’s love enters a person by the Holy Spirit, they truly become a new person. Believers can count on the power of that love as they journey through each day. Every decision we make, every behavior we engage in, is guided by the Holy Spirit within that is always loving, always forgiving, and always yielding to the will of God. That is what makes us different from non-believers, and others should see that. Today and always let us show others the hope they can have through Christ, our Lord and Savior. Have a safe and blessed day.

Deuteronomy 31:8
English Standard Version
8 It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

This little, short passage packs a wallop! I have quoted this many times to others and also to myself, especially when I feel alone and scared. Once again in scripture is the suggestion that we should not fear. You may wonder why “do not fear” is seen so many times in scripture. I believe it is because God understands that fear is part of our DNA. We are programmed to be afraid when facing dangerous situations. If this were not so, we wouldn’t run from danger. We wouldn’t try to fight to stay alive. We need fear to signal our brains to act. Yet, fear can be problematic if it impedes our ability to step up and do things God wants to do. I am sure Moses feared taking his leadership role as God commanded him to do. Is God calling you to step up and do something He wants you to do? If He is, meditate on this passage. Remember, God goes with you and He will sustain you. Do not fear! Have a safe and blessed day.

Zephaniah 3:17 NRSV

17 The Lord, your God, is in your midst,
a warrior who gives victory;
he will rejoice over you with gladness,
he will renew you[a] in his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.

This is a new day and the Lord is right here in my house and he is also there with you. He fights for you in these spiritual battles and rejoices over you and Jesus calls you friend. We are so loved by our merciful God. Let us start everyday with the knowledge that God is with us. I was watching season 5 of the Chosen last evening and I was reviewing in my mind this morning the wonderful words of Jesus that I heard in my head over and over. Just being able to hear his words as well as read his words bring me so much joy. If you do not read the Word daily you are missing a very important of your day. Regardless of which book you happen to be studying today, make a little time to review some of the words Jesus spoke. To me it like getting a big hug from my Savior and Lord. Have a safe and blessed day.

Scripture: Matthew 14:22-33 ESV

Isaiah 32:17-18 English Standard Version (ESV)
17 And the effect of righteousness will be peace,
and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust[a] forever.
18 My people will abide in a peaceful habitation,
in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.

Webster’s define righteous as one characterized by uprightness or morality: a righteous observance of the law. When we follow Christ, I believe we are following what is right. Jesus has taught us by example how we are to respond in many different situations. If we focus on Christ, I believe that will lead to peace. In Christ we can find secure dwellings and quiet resting places. Take time to just be with God and breathe in the peace that passes understanding. Have a safe and blessed day.
