THIS Sunday is Milestone Sunday! We are asking all children ages kindergarten - 5th grade be here to practice singing with Natalie at 9:30am this Sunday in the Sanctuary. If you have received milestones in the past, it's time to grab them from your special storage spot at home and bring your bag to church to collect your new stone! Our congregation is excited to celebrate YOU!
Sew Powerful will meet on Wednesday, May 13th from 9:30 am - noon in the Adult Sunday School room. All levels are welcome! Contact Holly Flischel for more info. Our goal is to construct specifically designed purses to help girls stay in school all month long and allow them to pursue secondary education which improves their chance of breaking the cycle of poverty in Zambia.
Thursday May 14th is our last Messy Church of the school year! We hope you can join us for dinner, story on 1 Corinthians chapter 12 and discovering how our church is a community for all. We will have intergenerational activities, food, fellowship and fun.
Lunch and Pie Auction - Sunday May 17th after worship. The fellowship team will provide lunch which will be followed by a live pie auction. Those who like to eat pie just need to bring money or their checkbook. Proceeds will be split between the well-digging project and future fellowship events. Cameroon Well-Digging Initiative - We will once again be helping to fund a well-digging project in Cameroon this summer. Church member, Valantine Che will be returning to Cameroon in June and plans to drill a water well in a needy community. This is a freewill offering from the people of our church, but pastor Tyler has offered the challenge that if we meet the goal of raising $5,000 for this project, he will shave his beard!
Celebrating Roger and Roberta Stagge's 50 years of service at West Chester Presbyterian Church! You are all invited to the party on Sunday, June 7th! First things first - they are ONLY retiring from being the choir director and organist. They will remain members of this church and continue to be active in other areas. That morning, we will hold our regular worship service at 10:15 a.m. Afterwards, we will go down to Fellowship Hall for lunch. We will then head back to the sanctuary to hold the celebration. You will hear about a lot of things Roger and Roberta have done through the years and share some laughs. We will have two collection boxes in the church hallway for donations. One at the back of the church by the bell-tower doors and the other is on the welcome wagon / coffee cart. You can drop cards or letters into the box, which will be presented to them at the celebration. You can make donations by cash, check or Tithely. Money, cards, and letters can be given to Heather, placed in the collection plates, or dropped in the dropbox outside the church office. All donations will be credited to your giving statement. The boxes will only be out on Sunday morning - if you cannot be at the event you can mail them to the church with a note. The lunch is FREE for everyone, but we are asking you to please RSVP (see insert).
We will be teaming up with Crestview Presbyterian Church this summer for Vacation Bible School! June 15 – 19th from 9am- noon at Crestview. Please see Susan Chain for details and questions.
The 2nd WCPC Community Care Fair was a great success! We connected with many members of our community and provided them with valuable care and resources. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed:
* Thank you for donating bags of candy for our goody bags!
* Thank you for the generous gift card donations; we were able to distribute over $450 in gift cards to those who needed them most.
* Thank you for providing baked goods; our hospitality was greatly appreciated by both the agencies in attendance and the visitors.
* Thank you to those who assisted with signs, banners, table tents, brochures, pens, and balloons!
* Thank you for all the prayers and positive encouragement.
We truly appreciate everyone who donated their time to help make the Community Care Fair a success. We look forward to establishing this event as a tradition at West Chester Presbyterian!
Save the Date!! WCPC is organizing a Friday night Red's game on June 12 at 7:15 against the AZ Diamondbacks. There will be a Drone show after the game! Details to follow.
