“LORD, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps.” Jeremiah 10:23NIV

We claim to trust that God is in control, yet we often try to steer our own lives. Maybe it’s because we believe we are in charge, even though God is ultimately in control. Amid life's stresses, our true desire should be genuine peace, which can only come from surrendering ourselves to the One who is entirely Sovereign.

“Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?” For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.” Romans 11:34-36 NIV

God is the all-knowing creator of all things, and He has infinite wisdom beyond our understanding. He transcends our thoughts and actions, and for believers, it's comforting to know that nothing surprises Him. This makes Him the perfect counselor and guide. Although He doesn’t need us, His love for us remains unwavering. God's will shapes our existence and our future. To Him be glory and honor forever!

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9 NIV

While setting goals is wise, it helps to remember that God is ultimately in control. We can take responsible steps and make plans to reach our objectives, but God's authority means He can reshape our plans to align with His purpose and will. Stay open to surrender, knowing that His wisdom is greater than anything we can imagine.

“The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.” Psalms 34:19-20 NIV

You’ve likely encountered the question: “Why do bad things happen to good people?” It’s important to recognize that, according to the Bible, no one is truly perfect—"there is none good, no not one" (Romans 3:12, Psalm 14:3). For those who believe in Jesus Christ, He provides righteousness as a gift from God, not something we earn through our actions. Sin often explains why the righteous face suffering and trials. Although God doesn’t always prevent such events, He assures us of victory and hope. Remember, no external circumstance can threaten the deep security of your relationship with God—the foundation of your inner peace.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

This verse provides comfort to those who feel inadequate. It highlights that while we may think physical strength is essential for success, God’s word shows His power in our moments of helplessness. Trust that God's grace is enough to overcome any challenge.

“Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink; deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep waters.” Psalm 69:14 NIV

Life's stresses, grief, burnout, and sadness can leave us feeling overwhelmed and exhausted—mentally, physically, and emotionally. If we're not careful, these feelings can lead us into a dark, lonely place. But instead of giving in to fear or despair, we can turn to God—who has the power to rescue and lift us out of those difficult moments. When we acknowledge our struggles, we can see and experience divine strength at work in our lives.

Dark times often come at night, and everyone faces them at some point. Listen to understand how your suffering during the night can be part of God's plan.

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22 NIV

Finding cheer in good times is easy. However, replacing a crushed spirit with cheer is not so easy. That profound sense of despair and hopelessness is hard to replace with joy. Turning to God and sharing your pain, worries, and hurts—trusting that He understands and can heal your heartbreak—is what brings true joy. This trust and surrender serve as the "good medicine" for the soul.
