All women of the Collaborative are warmly invited to join us this Tuesday, October 13 at 6:30pm at St. John for our first gathering of the 2026-2027 season! Sister Colleen Gibson, the Collaborative’s Director of Pastoral Care, will offer a reflection on the lessons of her pilgrimage this past June. Sister Colleen undertook the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James), walking across Spain for two weeks with students from Mount Saint Joseph Academy, a college preparatory school founded and sponsored by her order, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia.

Followed by a potluck dinner in Powers Hall - bring a friend and a dish to share! We look forward to seeing you there!

Unfortunately, the weather is not cooperating for our outside celebration this year, so we’re bringing the celebration inside – same time, same place!

We are thrilled to have Archbishop Andrew Nkea Fuanya of the Archdiocese of Bamenda, Cameroon with us. Bamenda is Fr. Gabriel's home diocese and the location of the new Saint John Paul II Church which is currently being constructed (and is almost complete - more info coming soon!) with the support of our 2025 Lenten Gift to Build the Faith.

After Mass we'll gather inside the Parish Hall for food, fun, and fellowship sponsored by our SJSP Society of St. Vincent de Paul, who will be cooking up hotdogs, hamburgers, and veggie burgers! Please bring a side dish/dessert to share if you are able! (Side dishes may be dropped off inside the Parish Hall before Mass.)

It is my great pleasure to announce that Sister Colleen Gibson will be assuming the role of Director of Pastoral Care and Liturgy for the Collaborative effective immediately.

Sister Colleen joined us in the fall of 2023 as Coordinator of Pastoral Care, working in partnership with Kelly Meraw, our former Director of Pastoral Care and Liturgy, to offer faith formation and enrichment programs, facilitate service and outreach initiatives, and coordinate sacramental liturgies and services across the Collaborative.

Since that time, she has been fully immersed in our community, leading adult and family faith formation
programs, helping bereaved families prepare for funeral liturgies, sharing her extraordinary gifts as a writer and speaker, and serving as a warm, welcoming presence at Mass. She has endeared herself to all with the kindness, warmth, and depth of her pastoral care, and she brings abundant gifts and experience to her new role as Director.

I am grateful to Sr. Colleen for taking on this vital role in our Collaborative - we are so blessed to have her!

In Christ,

Fr. Jim
