Black Women's Ministry - Wellesley College

Black Women's Ministry - Wellesley College Black Women's Ministry (BWM) is a Christian community at Wellesley College that exists to support students of African descent spiritually.

Black Women's Ministry or BWM, is a spiritual community apart of religious and spiritual life at Wellesley College. Founded in 1989 as a branch of Harambee House, the organization caters to the religious and spiritual needs of students of African descent. BWM is an excellent source for those lacking such ministry away from home. Some of our activities include, but are not limited to Bible Study, C

ommunity Outreach, Movie Nights, Church Visits, etc. We invite all members of the Wellesley College to worship and fellowship with us during our weekly bible study on Wednesday 6:30-7:30pm in the Harambee House Den. For more information, contact our co-presidents Nellie Philius and Jayla Stevenson.

Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4:9-12‬ (NIV)
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

1 Peter 4:8-11 (NIV)

8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
