It was a beautiful morning to spend time learning and enjoying time together with our church family. Thank you Dave for all of the insight you shared about one of our city's treasures!

Also this morning, in preparation for the June 7th Wear Orange March, a sign making party will be held in the Youth Lounge after worship. Posterboard and markers will be provided. We will have fun making creative and inspiring signs to carry during the March! There will be doughnuts!!

Special music this morning will be shared by the Stony Hill Brass Quintet, who are in their fourth season as “Artists in Residence”. Members Peter Uffers, Dawn Weber, Lucas Alberts, Matt Frederickson and Jeremy Knudtson can be found in orchestras throughout the St. Louis region (The Fabulous Fox, Muny, solo concerts) and beyond.

Following worship, enjoy coffee and treats in Disciples Hall, share your thoughts related to gun violence awareness on the banners we are creating in the main hallway, and then join us in the Youth Lounge for a special presentation by Diane McCullough. In October, 2025, the Dismantling Racism and White Privilege Team of the Giddings-Lovejoy Presbytery travelled on a Social Justice Journey to Alabama's Civil Rights sites in Birmingham and Selma and the Equal Justice Initiative sites in Montgomery. Diane will share about the journey, including thoughts from some of the travelers and a look at what we are doing at WGPC on justice matters.

American Mosaic celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States with a musical exploration of the many traditions that have shaped our nation's musical identity. Blending familiar patriotic melodies with folk hymns, spirituals, jazz, and Broadway favorites, the program reflects the voices, landscapes, and stories that form the American musical tapestry.

During worship we will be presenting the WGPC Earth Care Award to Jan Hanson for all of the incredible work that she has done around our church and community as a champion for native plants. Following worship, come and spend some time visiting with friends and enjoying coffee and treats!

We also have the pleasure of welcoming Joe Oelke and Jack McDonnell from our mission partner Beyond Housing. They will be speaking at 11:00 in the Youth Lounge about their ongoing “Environmental Restoration Efforts in North County”. Participants will get a chance to hear about their many projects like the Urban Forestry Initiatives, the use of native plants in their Vacant Lot Remediation program, Invasive Plant Mitigation, as well as their ongoing work to remedy the illegal dumping in North County.
